Realtime Gesture Video of Pin Up Girl Pack (Patreon)
Content
Hi Barbies!
This month's themed vote was close, but in the end the Pin Up Girl theme won out.
Although the theme was actually Pin Up, I was thinking with Barbie because I just saw it last weekend. Did you go see it? What did you think?
The model wears a cute little outfit of fitted short shorts, a looser fit plaid shirt and a cute bandana head wrap, very Rockabilly. (See playlist links below for inspiration!)
The costume was a bit tricky around the chest because the shirt was so loose, but the tight jean shorts were very fun and showed the box-like angles I was talking about in the Bum + Tums video very well.
I loved the silhouette of the hairstyle/bandana combo. There was lots of design opportunities with this theme to go a bit more animation-y.
I hadn't done any other gesture drawing that week, and oh man, did I notice it. I didn't feel like I had the control I had the previous week. It's shocking how quickly progress can slip away when you don't keep up the practise.

Today's video covers:
- creating a character from the model
- using the shorts to help define the volume of the hip and legs
- changing the pose when it doesn't work for you
- not scratching out drawings you dont like!
What was your favourite pose from this video?
Will you be drawing any of these poses yourself?
