In Scary Times, Lean into What Soothes You (Patreon)

Some of you know I was born into trauma. My mother was married to an abusive man. She left him and ended up marrying a child molester. If this is TMI, I get it. My point is that through all of my childhood trauma, carrying my pain silently with no one to help me, no one to hold me or explain what was happening, I escaped into making art. It was my quiet refuge where I could create something beautiful as an alternative to the ugly I was living. So this is my message to anyone feeling scared and helpless right now, you are not alone. There’s a whole community of people who care, who share your desire for justice and understanding, and who are seeking g truth and understanding. We can mourn -deeply, honestly - and still choose compassion, solidarity and resilience. Let’s stand together, not in anger but in shared strength. In shared healing and in doing so let’s build something better for ourselves and each other. We are survivors-not because we have an easy path but because we keep going even when life feels impossible. Together, we will rise -even from the hardest places. ❤️ Take care of yourselves. And know I’m always willing to do what no one else did for me, stand in the gap and help you hold the weight of your trauma.
