Today I'm sharing a very special portrait—my sweet mother-in-law, Bess, who turns 90 years old soon. ❤️

As I sketch her portrait with pencil, I talk about something that's been on my heart lately: it's never too late to learn something new.

So many of us put our dreams on hold because we think we're too busy, too inexperienced, or too old. But creativity doesn't have an expiration date. Whether you've always wanted to paint, draw, write, garden, or try something completely different, I hope this video reminds you that the best time to begin is simply... today.

I hope you'll enjoy this quiet sketching session and the message that goes along with it. It's one of my more personal videos, and I hope it leaves you feeling encouraged and inspired.

Thank you for being such an amazing part of this community. Your support makes it possible for me to keep creating and sharing these projects with all of you. 💛

I'd love to know in the comments: What's one thing you've always wanted to learn but haven't started yet? Maybe this is the year we stop waiting together.

Never Too Late | Sketching My 90 Year Old Mother-In-Law

This week, I'm sharing something very special. As I sketch a pencil portrait of my wonderful mother-in-law, Bess, who celebrates her 90th birthday next week, I reflect on the lessons that come with a life well lived. This isn't a drawing tutorial—it's a conversation about aging, courage, creativity, and why it's never too late to pursue the things you've always wanted to do. Whether you've dreamed of learning to paint, picking up a pencil, starting a garden, writing a book, or simply trying something new, I hope this video reminds you that there is no expiration date on curiosity or creativity. Every artist starts as a beginner. Every masterpiece begins with a single line. Don't let fear, perfectionism, or your age convince you that you've missed your chance. The best time to begin might just be today. Happy 90th Birthday, Bess. ❤️ Thank you for inspiring all of us with a lifetime of love, strength, and grace. If this message encourages you, I'd love to hear from you in the comments. What is one thing you've always wanted to learn or create? If you enjoy art tutorials, sketching, watercolor, gardening, and a little encouragement along the way, I'd love to have you subscribe and join me for future videos. MUSIC: Epidemic Sound
