All you need to know about every build and talent for Artanis. I cover all 3 builds that I see him played with as well as talent variations in those builds! Lots of Artanis specific tips and tricks and playstyle explanations as well! If I missed anything feel free to ask in comments section.

Just want to add the "peeling" swap. You can also Q through the enemy hero you are being chased and use E before coming back to create a little gap and give you Unstoppable without the need to place the enemy between you and the direction you are heading. Not so easy and reliable, but it's a neat trick to keep in mind while being chased. As always a really instructive video Fan, thanks! :)

As someone who really struggles to get good at this game I think tips on how to perform certain matchups could be useful. For example if Artanis should be played differently in the solo lane Vs. a teamfight, or against certain character/comps, or on certain maps....that would have been very handy to know.

Artanis is pretty similarly played in teamfights and lanes, he is just a lot stronger in a 1v1 lane because he won't be taking as much damage or be CC'd as much so he will be proccing his passive shield constantly in a 1v1 by spamming autoattacks. As for the rest, I did mention swaps are good vs no mobility heroes which are often mages or healers (kt, guldan, malf, etc) and that he is much better on 2 lane maps since his double soak speed is very slow.

As per in your tier list artanis is B tier so lot of better option, nonetheless i like to play him. Is there a map where you would consider equal or better than the S tier heroes ? like boe ? (also as volskaya is in the map pool can we have a writting guide please ? like all the others :) )

Yeah Artanis on BOE is probably A tier, S tier potentially if you hit all the swaps. Also he is pretty good on Braxis, as a solo laner he can usually 1v1 very well.

Perhaps this question is better asked on a macro video, however I play a lot of Artanis and Leoric and something I was just thinking about in my last game is what is the most efficient way to clear one wave? For both Im trying to get my Q to hit as many of the minions as possible and then which minion do you kill first? Do you focus the one that drops the globe first, front 3, back 3 if you have a wave behind you? Sometimes I think my clear should be faster esp on Leo.

Generally if you want fastest time of clear you hit the minions with more HP(the melee ones) and try to lower everything to the HP where your AOE skill can clear. I recommend watching any Leoric or Artanis GM game on my Youtube for examples of how I waveclear with those. With Artanis this can be pretty slow even if you do it though, as his waveclear is generally pretty weak.

I am confused, if you talk about for fun builds, why not the triple strike build with titan killer ? Also more confusing, that it is the highest winrate in SL with Master Diamond filters. Maybe it's good for peeling and burst damage, and killing tanks.

Yeah you can play triple strike for fun too, I don't personally think its a very strong build as without defensive 13 and 16 talents you can die instantly to a team focusing you but it is playable if you are very careful with your engages.

Hi Fan! Thank you for the video. Actually I had a debate with my friend about artanis green or blue shield is better. He argued that green shield does nothing until you get below 25% hp and you die anyway after that. He said with blue shield you can have infinite spell shield after 13. But with blue shield I feel like they can get rid of it easily (as you mentioned if the enemy focus fires you down) and true you have 4 seconds less cd on the shield but nothing else. In the end we couldn't convince one another which is better, so we agreed that we disagree. Now I feel like that before 16 blue might actually be better because you have no extra cd reduction on the shield but after 16 is the green shield's power spike. So blue shield is better in early-mid game and 1v1s, while green shield is better in teamfights and post 16. But I am not entirely sure. Green shield might be better early game with some shield management. - What do you think, would you still pick green shield on Braxis where you mostly 1v1 on top or switch to blue in that case? - If you are playing against a varian not necessarily on offlane, just in team fights or in general would your lvl 4 talent choice vary? Since varian is the most common shield breaker after 13. Sorry for writing a complete book, maybe I will just send a word document next time. :D Thank you for the videos, guides. I like green shield more, I think in any kind of high ELO when you are artanis, people will focus fire attack you and blue shield is useless when they focus fire you, green shield saves your life much more in those situations. If artanis was a ranged hero I think blue shield would be better but since he is melee and always gets focused, the bigger shield is much more likely to keep you alive, at least in higher ranks.

Sad you didn't dicuss all of the talents. I think AA talent at 7 is hot garbage, slow at 16 is not bad, sometimes % damage is important, and that trait at 20 is extremely important in teamfights.

Yeah I think the 16 talents all have a place situationally, but usually I find either ultimate upgrade at 20 to be far better than all other 20 options.

Only thing I would add is the mechanics of the shield is unique in that any fatal damage that procts it will leave Artanis at 1 hp. So for example if you are getting pyro blasted wit like 500 hp and you have shield cd up. I am almost positive you will not die.
