Hey Fan good video as always. I have a suggestion for the guides. Can you also include counterpicks and strong/weak maps with reasonings. It would really enhance the guide since you can’t find these with context without deep knowledge.

Great guide as always. Thank you professor Fan :)

I second this idea. Many people don't know which heroes are good on which maps. Sometimes you even have heroes who intuitively seem like obvious strong picks, like Ragnaros on Braxis, but they aren't nearly as strong as they might seem, and I think those cases are worth listing and explaining as well. (Kerrigan, for instance, has a lot less fun than normal if the enemy's got a good Medivh.) Great guide! Good Kerrigans are always a blast to play against; the combo has this perfect combination of power and counterplay that makes interactions really fun. It's really just as satisfying to juke it as it is to land it. Can you elaborate on your choice of Bladed Momentum with the W build? Boundless Fury still does good damage even with the +125 at 4, and it opens up corridors to reach the backline that otherwise wouldn't exist, not to mention it still helps build big shields. On top of that, Bladed doesn't help you with your mana at all; I find Kerrigan's combo limited much more by her mana than by her cooldowns. Is there something I'm missing? The VOD review was great too. I wanted to thank you for starting to do those; I noticed you did it the first guide after I suggested it, and I really appreciate that; it's great to know you're listening to feedback, and it does add a lot of context and understanding on top of the more basic build knowledge. P.S. While you're demonstrating mechanically complicated moves with a hero (like how to land her combo or how to leapfrog across people with Q to combo a far target), you could use the "Set Game Speed" button to dramatically slow everything down, so that even smooth-brained wannabes like me can correlate what's going on without having to rewatch too much. (This will be especially important when you finally get to the Zs and explain how to play Zeratul.)

Yeah sure I'll try to include those if it applies to the hero. A lot of heroes are solid on any map, but some are quite a bit stronger on certain ones. Kerrigan is playable on any, but infernal shrines is probably the one map that she really shines on as she can infinitely chain Q the shrine minions for big shield and fast clear. Counterpicks to kerrigan are just the CC picks or heroes with unstoppable, since you are melee assassin chain CC is very hard to deal with.

Bladed Momentum is pretty simple, you are investing all talents into your combo, so having more combos is synergistic and strong. The CDR also works with Q so you end up getting a decent number of Q's over a teamfight as well, though not as much as the other talent would give. However, you can play it with Boundless Fury as well if you are confident you can hit your 1st combo and need more backline access.

Actually, the Kerrigan's lvl 20 assimilation blade talent can ramp up really quickly if you take the lvl 1 splash auto attack talent. You can full charge it in few seconds on a minionwave. But still teleport has better usage. Loved the video, Fan! :))

Good point I forgot it stacks with the level 1, but yeah still pref teleport

I see what you mean Fan when you say that you like to burst people down with Spell power at 16, but apparently combos with Spell Power and W talent deal exactly the same damage (I mean R + W + E + QQQ and AA between Q's + Ultralisk's AA's). But W's damage is not bound to your Ult's cd AND it works on ANY enemy (Camp, Boss, Core). So i think W is clearly a winner here, even tho if you take Spell power it's still a really good talent.

fanhots

The one caveat would be if you miss your combo which does happen fairly frequently to most kerrigans. I like spell power more with Q build because even with a missed combo, ulti + 3 Q's is still 75%+ of a squishies HP which could be very relevant in fights where your starting combo missed.

PlayerHeroes1

Hey Fan and every Kerri-Fan here, I think it is about what is easier to hit. For me its the w+e combo. Because the ultralisk-shot doesnt work like a raynor Q, it has a delay in it, so if the target is not next to me I sometimes miss my ultralisk-shot. (If the target stands directly to me I would say ultralisk-shot is easier to hit, but this is not often the case for me). So I take the on 16 the W talent. Btw sadly I found out that the ultralisk-damage not give extra damage from 16 W talent, so ultralisk damage will not count as "Kerri Damage", but as metionend you can use combo more often than ulty for extra damage. What is easier to hit for you guys? W+E Combo or ultralisk-shot? What do you think Fan?

PlayerHeroes1

About E build a little info: I dont think the build is good, but I would add something: You can hit one target for much spell armor. The E without talents does 2 times damage = the pullback and the explosion. So you can get 40 armor on one target. So if you hit 2 targets with the combo, can get 75 spell armor (not 80, because 75 armor is limit), but than you have not the full duration of 4 secondes, because the E-explosion is 2,5 second after the E-pull. Sadly the second E-Explosion (lvl 4) comes 2 seconds later so you can not stack all 3 (the pull and the both explosions). But you can use the stack both explosions.

Has anyone an idea how you can figure out how many shield-hp you have? Or is there any trick how you can assume how much it is? I have the same problem also with other heroes when they have a shield or also with the core. I only know that the full core-shield is half the core-max-hp, but when the core-shield got damaged, I dont find any specific number. Are there any spefice shield-numbers in the game?

fanhots

I think it depends on the situation, the W+E combo is also more telegraphed whereas the ultralisk does not really have a animation that the other team can pick up on, even though it does have a cast delay like you said so it can be harder for the enemy to predict and dodge it.

fanhots

It shows a number higher than your max HP when you have shields, so just subtract that number from the max HP number next to it on your HP bar to see how many shields you have.

LongQs

Really like Kerri, but I feel like her and Alarak are very hard to master lol. Thx for the insight! I like how you mention the 4 W talent works on minions, but you forgot to mention that the 16 ravage works on minions too! So ideally and theoretically, you can prep those talents with a minion wave before rotating. Not sure if that works in high elo games though because the closest minion wave is pretty dangerous to be in.

Ruben

Leaving a small tip here: If you wanna combo a enemy that has mov speed and currently in the inner part of E, you should place your W in the middle (where the line is/at their current location) generally cuz if you put it under yourself they gonna be in the outer part and the W under yourself misses.

One particular issue I saw Kerrigan has was versus beefy multi tank / multi bruiser teams. While being great vs squishies, I used to struggle versus beefy heroes, that until I found the Painful Spikes (16) + Maelstrom combo which melts away all your issues.

fanhots

Beefy heroes are naturally better against kerrigan, the W build can definitely help with that with more consistent damage. You can also approach it differently from draft if there is a chance, and perhaps go for a malthael instead if you see multiple tanky heroes before your pick.

Hello again Fan! I play by default Q build and it never fails me, especially against pesky mosquitos such as Tracer or Lunara. I also play a variation of the combo build with Psionic Pulse in stead of Kinetic Fulmination & Psionic Barier at lvl 13. I feel like these 2 talents, especially taken vs spell power enemies makes Kerrigan feel like a beefy bruiser that is very hard to kill. I notices a few elements that impacted my playstile lately and I want to share / ask about them: 1. I noticed in my gameplays that in maps where team fights tend to take place outside lanes, Kinetic Fulmination can be very inconsistent compared with the other 2 counterparts, especially if you play in higher leagues and you don't manage to ramp it up that fast before the engage and you kind of are getting forced to use it beforehand. Is it really situational or am I biased because I tend to play a bit more safe? 2. Mounting Potency I discovered that it is really broken on Infernal Shrines, and probably that is the only map where it shines. I had a full Q build game where the enemy team came to attack us while I was doing the objective, and I just caught the enemy ETC and Leoric in a combo with my full stacked Mounting Potency. I managed with the whole combo and a couple Q + AA to get them down to like 20% hp - very similar to the Painful Spikes (16) + Maelstrom combo. So yeah.. kind of scary to approach an objective where the enemy Kerrigan has a 40% spell power increase, full shield and all skills available for counter engage Thanks for the amazing content btw :D

1. You can always charge it up on lane minions or anything you can hit but yeah if the fight is out of lane completely you probably wont charge it fully for first combo. Thats what bladed momentum is for in that build though, If your first combo hits and is good you will amost certainly have a second and maybe even third combo in the fight, and those will be fully ramped. 2. Yeah thats true on shrines, the benefit of unbridled is simply it is not restricted to shrines, you can have that potency anywhere just by popping R.
