Happy Birthday, MAU! I agree with this story it’s something like “astral projection” - whatever that is. Like the one caller said, a kind of energetic awareness. I suspect it’s linked to sleep paralysis because I get both of them, but sleep paralysis always has this awful sense of fear or dread, and I know somehow that what i see isn’t real. With astral projection or whatever, I never feel any negative feelings, just alert and a little curious about what I see. And it’s like some of the callers said about lifting out or peeling out of yourself. But when i was a kid I totally had that whole eyelids thing, yeah. So cool how many people share the experience!!

There is a King Fu technique where you train blindfolded. Advanced practitioners claim they can "sense" or "feel" the environment and some claim they can "see" even when blindfolded. One Master I met claimed he saw the world in a "wire diagram format", another said he "saw in gray scale". Scientist claim these practitioners are feeling microscopic changes in air pressure, subtle noises and other normal sensory inputs and that it is possible for the human mind to interpret these inputs in a proto-visual format. I have seen practitioners do some amazing things, including running through a forest while blindfolded. Maybe the caller has an natural ability like this?
