It was so interesting watching the Disney movie that kicked off the Renaissance and how this inspired so many films afterward. Ariel is a character I feel like everyone has felt like at one point or another and you can't help but want everything to work out for her. Enjoy :)

Laura Cabrera

Thanks for uploading this video Oscar. Three days ago my grandpa passed away unexpectedly and your reactions are one of the few things that relax and distract me. Besides, Ariel has always been my favourite Disney princess. Thank you for being my comfort zone

Rhetorical Thrill

When she came out of the ocean at the end and you thought she was naked again 🤣

Monica

Super excited! 😆

Liam

All the songs in the renaissance are perfect, the renaissance is easily my favourite period of disney films

Ok seriously this is the coolest upload Oscar ever did. I absolutely LOVE that scene at the end where she says I love you daddy. OMG. Ok I think WE ALL instantly teared up at that scene for sure. I also LOVED it so much when her dad put that beautiful rainbow in the sky for her. OMG that was an incredibly BEAUTIFUL scene. Absolutely beautiful and brilliant. I really love this movie so much. Can't wait for Oscar to watch the classic animated Disney movie Sleeping Beauty (1959)!!! I'm going to be super excited if/when he watches that one! SUPER THANKS FOR SURE ON YOUTUBE!!!! The animation for that movie Sleeping Beauty was really beautiful and the colors too were amazing. Highly recommend that movie Oscar!!! I love that you uploaded this movie Oscar The Little Mermaid! When I saw the notification for this I said OMG NO WAY!!! I was really happy about this!❤️. Love Disney princess movies!! Oh yeah I also LOVE her super sparkling dress at the end of the movie when she came out of the water! Wow what a spectacular dress! Super beautiful. I hearted this upload right away! Sorry one more thing. I also love that her dad loved her so much and really wanted the best for her and wanted to keep her safe. Awwwwww how sweet!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️

Of all the live action movies from Disney, Cinderella and beauty and the beast is my absolute favorite, so I strongly recommend that you watch the beauty and the beast one !!!

Maike_Staytiny

Will you watch the sequel and the prequel too? They're so good, my favourite of all disney sequels

Amanda P

Another Disney movie I'd love to recommend is Holes!!

Joel R

A lot of these earlier Disney films I've only seen in my native language, so has been fun to watch them in English for the first time

feyatsirk

"You can't speak? Oh. So you cant be who i thought" This part always pissed me off cause its like she is Clearly wrapped in a boat cover of some sort, looking like she just had an accident. Maybe its a TEMPORARY problem??? He just immediately writes her off with Oh she cant speak AT ALL! Sir use your princely education p l e a s e lol

Lizzie✨

Yesss!!! I hope u also get around to doing the live action remake of this, I feel you’ll enjoy it, Halle Bailey was an amazing live action Ariel!!

CoinBase Executive 7

I love singing along with her. A few years ago my cousin Brandy and I were watching this movie together and I was singing along with Ariel and my cousin was like oh wow you sound just like her! I do like to sing LOL. But also like I was saying before I absolutely love the beginning of Frozen 2 when the girls Elsa and Anna were playing. Awwwwwwwww they were absolutely adorable playing. So cute! Yeah I thought the part when Anna stood up and put her hands on her hips was so so so cute! I know Oscar liked that part to. The expressions on their faces were SO CUTE!! Like I said before that scene reminded me of me and my cousin Brandy playing together when we were little girls. Awwww so cute. 2 little princesses playing together❤️

ShadowDust

Ooh I hope you watch the live action it’s actually really good despite what critics say!

ShadowDust

Day one of asking for Maleficent!

The Outlaw Cad Bane

I don't think I've watched this since I was nine. What a blast from the past.

Teej

This always has a special place in my heart. I played Ursula in the musical a few years ago, and the choreographer had some connections and before one performance, she had Pat Carroll (the woman who voiced Ursula) call me in the phone to talk to me. It was one of the coolest moments of my life. To hear that distinctive voice talking to me was unreal. She was so encouraging and lovely. She also had me sing for her. 😊 It’s a core memory I will have for the rest of my life.

Ann-Marie Knight

You should definitly watch more of these older disney movies + can you react/watch The Swan Princess

Teej

I call my golden retriever Ariel because he also always wants to be where the people are. 😆

Kitty Underwood

I am once again asking you to watch Once Upon A Time. And The Last Unicorn

Kjrsten Schindler

I love this movie!! I’m so glad you watched it. I think you would like the rest of the trilogy too: The Little Mermaid II (about Ariel and Eric’s daughter) and The Little Mermaid Ariel’s Beginning (about her mom and growing up). I think you would also really like Aristocats, Swiss Family, Robinson, Cinderella, and Snow, White and the Seven Dwarves (the original) (my go-to’s as a kid)!!

Wall-E

Please, watch Jojo Rabbit.

Kelsey Hansler

Love watching the Little Mermaid growing up! My comfort movie, loved your reaction!

Charlotte Carter PhD.

Okay so if we're watching old Disney movies, I'm hoping for The rescuers down under, the homeward bound, the fox and the hound and Basil private detective! !

Astoria

One of my fondest memories of the film; it was my first time in the theater. My dad had to put his jacket on the seat for me because I was too small and I was so into the film when Ursula appeared for the first time I screamed at the top of my lungs, "Dad, change channel!" Which of course made the entire cinema laugh, but I was so scared that I slipped off the jacket and my pelvis between the seat and the backrest. (stupid folding seats.) After the movie, my dad and the employee had to help get me out of the seat. xD It was a very exciting first visit to the cinema and unforgettable in many ways. And I always prefer the 1992 lyrics and voices and be mad at Disney we don't have the option to choice with one you want to watch/hear.

Shannon

Personally not a big fan of this one, but the soundtrack is damn near unbeatable. 😂

Michael

Seeing Flounder reminded me, have you seen The Brave Little Toaster?

Shanae K.

My sister loves this movie. I was just thinking about this movie yesterday

Timothy Peterson

The only downside is that Tritan could have easily simply killed the sea witch and had the same ending. And as King with no nobles or constitution or anything to put limits on his power he has that authority.

coco

i was waiting for this upload im soo glad u did! i hope u watch the live action i think you'd prefer it over the original based on what you said (pacing etc.) <333

Judith

Its so funny to me. My family didnt have a tv until i was 14 so i never saw this movie growing up. But i was told the original story which was written by Hans Christian Andersen (Danish) and it is sooo far away from this story! This is such a disney thing. They change all the fairy tales into happy endings but acually, they hardly ever end so clean. And Andersen fairy tales usually dont even have a happy ending. I understand why they do it. Original fairy tales are scary and can be very very violent. But its also just kinda funny to me, because i know the original stories too... idk.

Saschaaaaa

You neeeeeed to watch wicked, its such a beautiful movie, and the music is amazing!!!

Rk Monger

i cannot tell you how many times i saw this in the movie theater; i was 19 or almost 19 when it first came out. LOVED IT!!! I truly enjoy your insights and comments.

jenNjuice84

I remember seeing this twice in the theaters when it came out. Was my favorite for a long time as a young kid.

Katelyn Heaslet

This is my favorite Disney movie so I’m so glad you liked it! They also made a Little Mermaid 2. It’s not my personal favorite but it would be cool if you saw the full story.

AGBmom

If you pause on the audience when King Triton enters in the beginning you’ll see Mickey, Goofy, and Donald 😁

Maisie

My favorite shirt from pride this year said "But Daddy, I love her!" worn by a young woman who was with her girlfriend. It was the sweetest.

Kristen Patton-Schulle

I sincerely hope that you watch the prequel and the sequel movies. All that I will tell you about the sequel is that Tara Strong, one of my favorite anime/cartoon voice actors, joins the cast for the sequel and Pat Carroll returns for the sequel movie. I have SO MUCH FUN watching the sequel and prequel movies and I really hope that you have as much fun as I do if you decide to watch those movies.

Jenny MacRunnel

I cannot overstate how big this movie was and how it important it was to Disney. Disney had been floundering a bit for awhile, and most animated movies that were popular at that time were done by a rival company. I remember that my little sister really wanted to see this movie. My mom and I didn't (I was 11 at the time) but we went anyways. And we all LOVED it. The whole theater did. Its been a favorite of my little sister's ever since (she also has red hair) The animation was SO GOOD for the time, and the songs were all bangers. And then Disney continued to up itself with Beauty and the Beast, then Aladdin, and then the rest is history!

Fireflye97

This movie was absolutely incredible (and it still is!). My recommendations: Jurassic World Dominion Ready Player One Battleship Legend of the Guardians: The Owl’s of Ga’Hoole Titan A.E. The Black Cauldron

Sarah Marion

@20:55 that’s how I looked when I first saw you

Jessica Alexander

I think you'd really like Mr. Peabody and Sherman.

Jim Schmitz

That was fun...you not-so-old softie...

Stone27

I love that Ursula was inspired of a drag queen

Morsilva

I've watched this countless times over the years and heard something I never realized until now. When we transition between the sailors singing about king Triton and seing the merfolk for the first time; we hear the Part of that World motif, which is is a very fun... I don't know if juxtaposition is the right word, but really cool nonetheless.

lilovebird

I agree with the people saying to watch the sequel and the prequel!! They're underrated and some of my childhood favorites

Morgan

Plz watch the live action little mermaid! 🧜‍♀️☺️
