I'm so shocked by how much fun this film was and how much it was inspired by heist films. The jokes were really good in my opinion and seeing the "bad guys" transform into heroes was really cool to see. Enjoy :)

Yes one of my favorite animated movies. Thank you so much for reacting to this movie.

You uploaded this at the right time since the sequel of this movie is releasing on this Friday. Are you planning on watching it when out comes digitally?

Sarah Marion

I know you’re on a Dreamworks streak but I was wondering if you could react to “Sharktale” mainly cause the main character’s name is Oscar

Sarah Marion

The snorts again 😂🐽 @22:51

Yes, I'm so glad you reacted to this! Also if you'd like to see a film that's one of The Bad Guys' biggest visual inspirations, I highly recommend checking out Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro. It's from the same director who made Spirited Away, doing his own take on a heist anime franchise that's been incredibly popular in Japan since the 70's.

He'll yeah let's go!!! I love the animation style! Out of the villain gang the plot really only revolves around Snake and Wolf but all 5 of them have lovable personalities and really make the movie a more fun experience. One of my favorite aspects of this movie is how only the main characters are animals with human attributes yet nobody suspects anything when they disguise themselves. It just adds to the fun and charm of the movie. It was also nice that the fox governor wasn't used as a love interest for wolf but rather heavily involved in the story and her personality as well as her chemistry with Wolf is just as well developed as the gangs is. I love the humor, animation and loveable characters. DreamWorks really went all out on that! The pacing of this film is fantastic! I like how it had some jumpy and hyper pacing scenes. That was nice. But yeah aside from the film Turning Red this movie might be the best animated movie of 2022! Turning Red was sensational and hilarious! I like how this movie feels very put together and zany! There's a lot of funny scenes but also interesting chemistry between the characters who are also up against a secret villain. The main few being the bad guys who are hilarious but also show strong feelings later for each other and how much their friendship means as they are infamous for being jail broken criminals. They show lots of interesting traits between each other and also to everyone that witnesses them. The voice actors also bring the comedy to its finest with their performances. I love the 2.5D CGI blend this film takes especially for DreamWorks. I love the eye catching imagery and the music was really great too! Sam Rockwell leads the film with his best impression of George Clooney and shares decent chemistry with the other members of the gang. His relationship with Marc Maron's Snake is the most interesting of them all as they develop a legitimate bond throughout the film that solidifies its emotional core. That was great! Rockwell's relationship with Zazie Beetz's Foxington is also great. I also like the films hyper-stylized action sequences and impeccable physical comedy. I like how the action sequences are a visual treat. I like how the car chases scenes harken back to the crime films of the 60s such as Bullitt and The Italian Job. We usually don't watch animated films to see hyperreal characters doing "real" stuff inside a "real" world. We want to be transported inside a world we can't have in real life and see a whimsical adventure full of anthropomorphized characters stretching and squashing inside a kinetic fictitious world that treats its animals and humans as equals. That's the beauty of animation and The Bad Guys expressed it brilliantly!

If you're looking for some more Disney movies to watch, might I recommend The Rescuers and its sequel, The Rescuers: Down Under. These 2 movies, while not being masterpieces or anything, I find get overlooked a lot. Which is a shame, because I think they're nice stories with a good bit of heart to them.

How fitting that you are reacting to this now, a mere day away from the (U.S.) theater premiere of the sequel. I am glad that you found it so fun! I love this movie mainly because of Diane's role (which I did a bit of a character study on in an article I posted a few years ago on Fanpop and DeviantArt). What makes Diane great is the fact that she is super skilled but also still flawed. For instance, she correctly called The Bad Guys out for their incompetence at the beginning, yet she cockily did not think they would be able to successfully steal the Golden Dolphin from under her nose, a major jab to her pride and dignity as governor (note that the only reason they got caught is because of Marmalade's secret plan causing Wolf to have feelings of goodness). She was also complex, having been initially fooled by Marmalade like everyone else and only showing signs of trusting Wolf when he revealed his secret intentions of wanting to be good, which caused her to reveal her secret to them. Had it not been for her, this movie could have easily been a cliché bad-to-good storyline that we've seen so often, yet she made it interesting by showing that even characters who have already had their change-of-heart still have room for character growth. I am hoping the sequel has its own advantages as well!

are you going to be making your way through the sequels to the films you’ve watched recently? pitch perfect, kingsman etc

This movie was such a fantastic movie. Throughout it it gave me vibes of a lot of different things. I think a main one for me was the Sly Cooper games. Makes me wish I still had them lol

If and when you do react to the sequel, keep in mind that there is 2 end credits scenes. One during the credits and one after the credits finish. Loved your reaction and I can’t wait for the sequel when you do. I’m glad you don’t question the logic of how things are supposed to be able to happen and not throughout your reactions, like another reactor, who by the way gave this film 4 out of 10.
