I absolutely adore the character Rocky! So much heart at the core of this film and a brilliant script that shows that it doesn't matter if you win or lose as long as you go the distance. Beautiful! Enjoy :)

Rocky is such a fleshed out character throughout these movies. Love this!

Stallone wrote all the movies in the franchise and I believe he directed all but this first one. He has said in interviews that he wrote this as a love story and the main character happened to be a boxer. Most people believe this is a sports movie, but it’s not. The steps that Rocky runs up are very well known and popular in Philadelphia thanks to the movie. People call them the “Rocky” steps. People visit the steps when they’re in Philadelphia and on any given day there are people running up those steps and pumping their fists like Rocky and taking pictures. In fact, Cassie was recently in Philadelphia and went to those steps. The dog in the movie was Sly’s dog in real life, that’s why it looked like the dog knew him. I remember when Cassie watched this movie on her channel and she said that it’s one of her husband’s favorite movies and he had tried to get Cassie to see it for years, but she wasn’t interested in a “boxing” movie. She figured out it was a love story and fell in love with Rocky and Adrian. She has since seen all the movies in the franchise and is a big fan. This movie won The Best Picture Oscar Award in 1976. I hope you continue with the franchise, it’s great to see the character development.

The old guy who played the trainer was The Penguin in the 60s batman tv series.
