It's been a while since I have seen an animated film with this level of soul. I couldn't help but laugh and cry throughout thanks to this incredible Stallion and his journey away from his home.

Ok, I seriously can't say how much I love this movie and am so glad you reacted to it. In my opinion this is one of the most underrated animated movies ever. The opening Here I Am as Spirit is Born and his montage growing up fills me with so much happiness and makes me cry. Sound the Bugle is one of the most heartbreaking songs, and Get off of my back just gets me hype. Amazing movie, hope you enjoy it as much as I do! Keep up the great work Oscar

I think I was having an off day when I saw this one, so I'm glad to see it again. It definitely has amazingly moving scenes, and so much of the animation is gorgeous. The landscapes and close-ups of the characters especially. I love the instrumental score but still not sold on the Bryan Adams songs. I think they could have easily gotten rid of the Matt Damon voiceover narration too. I'm guessing it was just too much of a risk, but they had something very interesting going on and I think it would have worked.

Also a first time watcher. Thoroughly enjoyed. Strong imagery, emotions and themes. Great selection and reaction. Well done.

The best part of this movie - plenty of songs . They made the mood . "Here I am" is my favorite 😍

I watched this movie when I was a kid in the cinemas and its such an underrated movie. It's incredibly special to m and the sole reason why I love horses. From what I remember about the songs from Brian Adams is that he's the singing voice for Spirit, while the voice over is Matt Damon who went on to star in movies like The Martian, Happy Feet Two and many more!

Since you enjoyed this movie so much, I HIGHLY recommend watching Black Beauty (1994). It’s a live action movie about a horse’s life and all the trials and tribulations he has to go through and all the different people he encounters. It’s a beautiful film with a lot of heart and emotion.

Subscribed to full length Patreon just for this movie! I was OBSESSED with horses (and dogs & wolves) as a kid, especially in elementary school, so you can imagine how many times I watched this and Black Beauty (1994). Of course, I mostly watched the Finnish dubbed version since I'm from Finland, but that dub is also VERY good. You can find some of the Finnish versions of the songs on Youtube, for example "Spirit - You Can't Take Me (Finnish)": https://youtu.be/hRbdS3cObF4 To this day this remains one of the best animal movies I've seen, and I'd probably place it even in my top 10 favourite animated movies in general. The animation is gorgeous, and it's a great example of how to use 3D techniques with traditional hand drawn 2D animation, and do it well. Obviously some of the 3D bits like the grass in the beginning haven't aged as well, but overall it's magnificent for something that came out in 2002. I think the main stream animation industry has done itself a huge disservice by basically throwing out 2D animation nearly completely. If you're interested in this sort of thing, you can see some of the beautiful concept art, character designs and hand-painted backgrounds on here: https://characterdesignreferences.com/art-of-animation-2/spirit-stallion-of-the-cimarron Hope it's not too frowned upon that I included two links in this comment, just wanted to share since this movie is so underrated and I rarely ever see people react to this 😭👌💖

i find the ending of this movie to be so tragic. Its heartbreaking to watch these seemingly triumphant moments of the characters regaining their freedom and going home knowing what we know, watching from their future. we know that the railroad was eventually finished, the american west was colonized, the native americans were nearly completely wiped out and lost their land, their freedom, their culture, and there are almost no wild horses left in the u.s. not to mention how much of that beautiful landscape was paved over and bulldozed to build cities, suburbs, interstates etc. i just found myself watching this ending with this sense of loss for what cannot be brought back.
