Hey, I appreciate you giving Gorillaz another listen, my all-time favorite band. Clint Eastwood was Gorillaz' biggest hit (before Feel Good Inc.) because it was a real genre-bender for its time, fusing that stuff in 2001 was pretty rare and so it took off and holds up well till this day. Also Del the Funky Homosapien is Ice Cube's cousin (yes, really. Put some respect on the name lol)

Also, there's a lot about Gorillaz that you're missing (not really your fault, the lore IS hard to follow) because with this 'virtual band' they also created an entire fictional story that blends into the music. For example, del the funky Homosapien raps from the perspective of Russel's (the Drummer) friend that died in a drive by, Russel was the only survivor, So he possessed Russel. This stuff becomes a lot clearer in the music videos.

Dunno why u went back to this or anyone recommended it since to me demon days is the real start of gorillaz discography and naturally it’s follow up plastic beach should’ve been next which is a fantastic album. Hopefully one day everyone locks in and votes for it

Since no one has put you on yet. Damon Albarn is the mastermind behind Gorillaz. He's the main vocalist, & he arranges all the music himself. He's a complete savant. The cartoon characters he has as his "band" are all made up aside from musicians he brings on tour. The recorded music is basically all him aside from the features.
