I have released a hotfix to address an issue where existing settings and progress data could fail to load correctly in some environments after the Nakara 1.1 update, especially on the Steam version.

Starting with the 1.1.1 hotfix, Nakara's settings and progress data will be stored in the following location instead of the game installation folder:

Documents\My Games\Nakara\nakara.ini

If you have existing settings or progress data from a previous version, the game will automatically copy and migrate it to the new location when you launch the game after updating. No manual file transfer is required, and your original data will remain in its previous location.

I apologize for the inconvenience.

Another small bug- The menu for selecting the starting dungeon is out of alignment now. It's hard to pick because the selector doesn't match up with the options.

Apparently a friend of mine has issues with trying to nut out the lust.

Hey RedSpike, I'm trying to run the Steam version on Linux and prior to the update had no issues. As of 1.1.1, when I hit "Game Start", I get a GZDoom Very Fatal Error message. I'm currently using the latest GE-Proton (GE-Proton11-6-x86_64) and this is the only game I've had issues with lately. I'd really like to be able to play the new content! I can send you the error details in a DM if need be.

I checked it, and there are still some issues with the save system, so I’m planning to release another hotfix.

Just a question out of interest, what is the reason of changing the savefile location? And why did you choose the "documents" folder instead of the appdata folder like most games/ devs do? Personally I like to have the savefiles in the game folders (of course barely any game dev does that), so that if i need to reinstall my os (or brick it), the savefiles stay with the games one the secondary drives.

How is the third lust removal animation viewed in game? I get the first one is standard and the second is in the new stage, but ive tried to get the third and im out of ideas. I tried while at lust level 2, lust level 3, even dying while at level 3 but still no dice.

Do you still make requests? I know you intended to make the slimegirl as a monster girl that you can encounter for the game—if you still intend to add her in a future update, could you please, pretty please, make her color blue? I would love it.

Thanks for asking! The main reason is that different versions of Nakara were based on different versions of GZDoom, and those versions use different save locations. Nakara 1.0 to 1.0.2 was based on GZDoom 4.8.1. In that version, if the game is installed inside Program Files, the config/save data goes to AppData. If it’s installed somewhere else, it can be stored in the game folder instead. The current version is based on GZDoom 4.14.2, which uses Documents\My Games by default. The problem was that I didn’t realize GZDoom 4.8.1 changed its save location depending on where the game was installed. Because of that, some old save files, especially for Steam users with the default Program Files install path, were not being found correctly. 🫠 So with this hotfix, I decided to move the converted save data to one consistent location: Documents\My Games\Nakara This also follows the newer GZDoom save system and should make the save files easier to manage from now on.

The third pose happens when you’re hiding behind a wall or obstacle. A separate pose for max lust will be added later.

I managed to figure it out: if you go to Video settings and change "Preferred Rendering API" from OpenGL to Vulkan, it *should* fix the crashing issue on Linux!

Just tried it and it worked. I thought i tried hiding before but i guess i wasn't close enough to a wall. Thanks a ton
