Meet Tarathial the False God-King!

A parasitic false god wreathed in magic, Tarathial is driven by its desire to feast and hold dominion. Tarathial rules from a mesa, either natural or unnatural, built from earth or stone mounds when the landscape doesn’t provide a suitable foundation. It calls this the Iron Plain. As Tarathial settles in, the whole area becomes covered in a layer of congealed blood, sticky to the touch and stinking of iron and rot. Atop this mesa, Tarathial constructs its Trembling Throne from the still-living bodies of those who disobey it. By using its magic to meld flesh together, it allows the hapless creatures just enough autonomy to writhe and scream. From atop this seat, Tarathial oversees its kingdom. It rules with no regard for the wellbeing of its subjects, cultivating a mix of followers and prisoners to feast on.

Tarathial thinks all living things either rule or are ruled over, and Tarathiel has never deferred to anyone or anything. Like the giant parasite it is, it’s driven by an insatiable, ferocious hunger. Once it finds an area lush with life to drain, Tarathial begins to build its kingdom. With a preference for creatures weak or foolish enough to consider it a god who’ll bestow mercy on those worshiping it, Tarathial feeds on all living things in its vicinity. It doesn’t drink blood or consume flesh, but instead siphons off lifeforce, withering plants and draining creatures like a necrotic black hole. Those who spend too long in Tarathial’s presence or who are drained too heavily die of exhaustion as their organs collapse and turn to bloody mulch, their bodies left withered and desiccated as if mummified. The blood of its victims drains into the earth around Tarathial, and it keeps the cells just alive enough to provide a comforting carpet of low-level lifeforce around it.

Will you conquer Tarathial’s dominion of torment, or will you become the next still-screaming additions to its throne?

We can't wait to show more Tarathial previews throughout the month! Stay tuned!
