I can see why this arc’s been so divisive in the fandom, but I still think it has a lot of potential despite a few plot holes. Episode 6 had me cracking up, and hey, any excuse to see Young Max is a win!

Justice League Unlimited

Honestly despite the plot holes, I really enjoyed the arc. Might even be in my top 5 Ben 10 finales, and in my top 10 Ben 10 arcs. But I won't blame you if you end up not liking it.

Agregor arc never happend, i think that was also just a fake memory. The whole thing about osmosians and plumber kids beeing retconed makes it the most contraversial arc

Winterflower13

Now we have reached the rooters Arc >:( Yeah the rooter arc was not received well either the audience. They one of the things i hate lost in cartoons, retcon. They retcon the entire kevin backstory and not just him. They retcon kevins father, Max plumber backstory, Raganrok (apparently he was a rooter but then what was he doing in the nulvoid prison), Aggregor, Osmos V, the osmosian hierarchy, inspector 13 calling kevin “Osmosian”. Kevins mom and stepdad knowing about Devin alien power. And so much more i cant even begin with. Im sorry but im really disappointed in the writers decision to take away Kevin’s alien heritage and the whole Aggregor thing.

Winterflower13

But Proctor Servantis (Cerebrocrustacean) (brainstorm professor) Swift (Aerophibian) (jetray girl) Leander (Prypiatosian-B) (NRG guy in armor) Phill being “normal” That is interesting and i like their concept and character. I just dont like the story if you know what i mean They are half humans half alien mutants

Winterflower13

Im iffy with the Many, Helen, Pierce and Alan thing though. I like that they showed how they became mutants but i dont like how they knew kevin before UAF

Winterflower13

Servantis said “each osmosian” that implies there are other (human osmosian). Man i wish we could have seen them. Or better instead of the plumbers helper kevin original team should have been other (human osmosians)

Winterflower13

The Biggest Retcon in cartoon networks history 🤬

Anriku

That doesn’t sound right to me, man. The only way that would make sense is if Servantis also manipulated Ben and Gwen’s memories along with anyone else who was around during that arc. As for the plumber kids and Osmosians being the controversial part, I can see that when it comes to the Osmosians, since that creates the Aggregor issue, which I fully believe still happened. For me, the plumber kids not being part alien makes more sense than them actually being part alien like the previous series stated.

Winterflower13

I love Blukiq and Driba related episodes. Also the gibberish they were talking during the interrogation was Galvan langues. They been using their plumber badges as translators Also welcome back and F You Colonel Rozum

Anriku

So far, so good. I think it has potential despite the clear retcons/possible plotholes. I look forward to seeing how it plays out.

Servantis is a Cerebrocrustacean hybrid (Brainstorm), Swift is a Aerophibian hybrid (Jetray, she has the same crest he does), and Leander is a Prypiatosian-B hybrid (NRG). Phil is also technically a hybrid, since he’s half of whatever that spider alien is. All were formerly human. Aggregor was actually planned to have a full return appearance in Omniverse (in this very episode, no less) to help further explain this all better to Kevin, but he was cut last minute. Yes, Aggregor is an “Osmosian”, he is artificial, with the same implanted memories. He was an attempt by the Rooters to replicate Kevin’s powers, hence why he has the same absorption abilities. DJW made an Omniverse design for him based on the early episode plans, I’ll show it in the Discord. To me, this retconning honestly helps tidy up a lot of messes. The Plumbers kids, they’re human-alien hybrids, which is genetically impossible. We never even see their parents, who were apparently active plumbers. It made no sense. Kevin’s backstory really never made sense when you think about it. Kevin’s “dad” was Max’s partner the whole time and he never once brought it up until years later? I don’t think so. If anything this just helps straighten out Kevin’s rather confusing and nonsensical history. An early concept for the Rooters arc even had Ragnarok as part of the team, who was a part of the Rooters conspiracy involving Kevin’s “father” prior to his death. I like that they made Max younger and smaller than he was in the UAF flashbacks, it lets you know this was very early and he was probably only 17-18 here. I love how Benevelon and Blrrrt have those sort of old school sci-fi comic/movie alien designs. The antennae and lab coat, and the giant robot that always had one eye. They’re even both in total black and white and Benevelon’s shields are like TV static. Colonel Rosum appeared a few times in UA to work with Ben and co a few times, as early as UA episode 1. Funnily enough, his final appearance was the episode where Old George made Area 51 disappear and Ben unlocked Chamalien. Although I do really have to question this guy’s age, unless this is Rosum Jr. or something lol. We saw Blukitch and Driba working tech support in the Mt. Rushmore base when Ben was 11 during the Animo flashback episode. They’ve always been around, it’s just Max would give them the benefit of the doubt even when he knew they were dumb.

Her tail and head crest is jetrays

KrakenKing

Aggregor did happen, he’s real, he’s in Plumber custody.

Anriku

Not the winds under the arm, too? Which species does that belong to?

demonic-myst

Now u know why people get anoyed at this arc its a giant retcon all the pumbers kids are not half aliens their is no osmosians the omniverse team tried to reset the t8meline back to the classic series everyones a mutant stage the omniverse team didnt like the half aliens that alien force added

demonic-myst

In classic they claimed kevins a mutant they basicly retconed aeay so much of kevins lore and a chunk of alien force and ultimate alien

demonic-myst

Made no sense” they have dna gwens half anodite a species that is stated to have no dna their is no chromosomes in a anadite To reproduce Tukustars are born from literal gasses in space Alien biology never made sense

Anriku

Yeah, I get that alien biology in Ben 10 has never been consistent or realistic. My point still stands, though. You brought up Tokustars, which are asexual. Humans can’t reproduce asexually, so how exactly did a human mate with, say, a Firestorm? And honestly, how would any human even be attracted to some of these species in the first place, unless it was forced? For me, the bigger issue with this arc is the Osmosians not being aliens. How does that even work with Aggregor’s story? Retconning what an Osmosian is feels like the biggest plot hole so far.

Anriku

My biggest issue with them deciding not to include the Aggregor part is that it creates a plot hole. Sure, it’s explained outside of the show, but that doesn’t fix anything within the show itself. That’s just auxiliary info, and it still leaves a gap in the story. If they had just added him in, it wouldn’t even be an issue for me right now. I do agree it cleans up some messes like the plumber kids being part alien and the whole thing with Max and Devin, especially since I didn’t like how Max handled that situation if they were partners. It just felt off. As for Driba and Blukic, I guess that makes sense, but it’s still odd that Max would say Azmuth let them come when they were always on the planet. Feels like the writers don’t always plan ahead, and it shows with the retcons and some stories not lining up. Still a fun ride. And yeah... Rozum might be immortal or maybe he just has amazing genes. 🤣

demonic-myst

They are i wrote coment before the wings apeared

JD Dumas

Over all, I have few complaints about the Rooters arc, at least in terms of the concept. But I can't help but feel that certain parts could've been handled better. Maybe have devoted an extra episode to flushing out and explaining all the changes could've helped.

DragonstarTDB5

How it works is that he was a clone of Kevin a failed experiment that was thrown away who learned the power and to get it

Prozaur

Honestly kevin's father knowing max was stupid since max back in classic was planning to send kevin to the null void without hesitation Btw i have a theory that agreggor was also one of servantis experiments

Anriku

I get that they addressed it later outside of the show, but if it’s not in the actual episodes, it still plays as a plot hole while watching. Creator notes after the fact don’t change how it lands in real time. It just comes off as lazy writing to me. I’m sure the arc will still be fun, I just wish they’d included that info in the show itself.

demonic-myst

that doesnt even remotly work an escaped clone wouldnt have memory changed if its escapped , nor does make sense a random failed clone would know how tlo travel to andromeda a galacy million light yearfs away

RedSunCrusher!!!

Two other plot holes about Kevin's dad "not being real" is the fact of the person who killed him Ragnarok how do you explain that?. did Servantis also re-wrote his memories and also Kevin's step dad he knows the truth too.

Alexei Azizov

But that's just how Max judges things, aye?? I mean, when Kevin absorbed the ultimatrix back in UA, Max was with Ben's side against Gwen, and he was okay with Ben k*lling Kevin because he was considered a danger

Anriku

That would have been cool. Missed opportunity.

Anriku

Same here. They're a fun duo.

Anriku

Agreed. They could have included the cut Aggregor and Ragnarok stuff.

Anriku

Yeah. Its a shame they didnt include the cut content. Not including it creates questions.
