- (Short 3, Guide to Fashion Trivia) The flash makeover Mabel and Grenda give Soos is a reference to the late David Bowie's character, Jareth the Goblin King, from the 1986 film Labyrinth. Previously, Alex Hirsch revealed an idea for an unproduced episode that would have been a Labyrinth parody. - (Short 4, Guide to Color Trivia) Mabel refers to the plan which will send a rainbow into Stan's office as the "Roy-G-Biv-A-Tron". Roy G. Biv is an acronym for the sequence of hues commonly described as making up a rainbow. (Congrats, you remembered school, now feel your age, old man reactor!) No cryptograms, reversed messages, Journal pages, or other hidden messages were included in these shorts!
