Yeah… this show is too damn AMAZING. 🔥Six episodes in and not a single miss so far... I’m fully locked in and can’t wait to see what episodes 7–8 have in store.

Wildcat is an absolute vibe.

Funny Story: Etrigan is more than just Merlin's demonic familiar, he's his half-brother. Yeah, a lot of adaptations leave this part out, but the reason Merlin is so powerful is because he's half demon, specifically the son of the demon lord Belial. Anyway, in the comics, Merlin first summoned Etrigan, thinking their familial bond would make it easier to control him. When that didn't work, Merlin bound Etrigan to the soul of the knight Jason Blood, which made Jason immortal as a bonus. Jason and Etrigan are two separate beings, but they share the same body and need a spell to switch back and forth. I don't really know that much about B'wana Beast, other than that he can also talk to animals. But I do know that he can separate the chimeras he creates once he doesn't need them anymore. Wildcat is as old school as it gets. Founding member of the Justice Society of America. No powers, no gadgets, just a pro boxer with a cool costume. The Outsiders actually have a rather fascinating history in the comics. See, in the early 80s, Batman quit the Justice League and formed a new team of heroes who, like him, didn't really fit in with the mainstream leaguers. The team consisted of Batman, Black Lightning, Katana, Metamorpho, Geo Force (Terra's big brother) and Halo. Eventually Batman quit the Outsiders too when they became too trendy for his tastes and rejoined the League. It's interesting that they made them teenagers in this show. My theory is that since the characters premiered in the 80s and the Silver Age was in the 50s-70s, I guess they would've been teenagers in the Silver Age. IDK, it's just a theory. Slug is a villain from the comics, and an obscure one at that, but they changed his name due to censorship. In the comics his name is Sleez (pronounced Sleaze), and apparently you can't say that word in a kids cartoon.

This is only DC Merlin right? Eteigan is DC only iirc. Sleeze is a perfect name for that dude. 🤣 Wildcat is such a vibe. Good thing Bwana beast can separate them. That'd be scary lol

Yes, Etrigan is DC only. But some versions of Arthurian Lore do depict Merlin as half-demon. It's just that most modern adaptations leave that out.

Wildcat is played by legendary drill sargent actor R. Lee Ermey aka Gunny.

Holy shit. No wonder why he sounded so familiar. That's amazing! Full Metal Jacket!

B’Wana Beast (Michael Maxwell) was a game warden in Africa who got his powers through a combination of ingesting a mystical elixir and wearing his ancient helmet. He has animal telepathy and the power of creating chimeras, both very unorthodox powers, and has a gorilla companion named Djuba. He often dreams up with Batman and Vixen, another animal-oriented hero.
