I loved this episode getting the much needed focus on Daisuke and Reiji's backstory. We'd seen flashes of his mentors death but we didn't know who killed him or anything about him. This episode also shows why Reiji considers the Gavans to be divine light. Along that similar idea something I thought of while watching the reaction is Death Gavan reminded me of Lucifer the whole fallen angel thing falling from the divine light and corrupting it. Also Death Gavan referring to the nega emorgear users as "dear sinners" definitely plays into the whole religious imagery that the show has hinted at.

Great points. I'm feeling that, too, after you pointed it out. Even more so now that we have an idea who Death Gavan is working for.
