Yeah, I'm digging what I'm seeing so far from this series. I like the detective vibe, the contrast and partnership between Phillip and Shotaro, and the gimmicks are cool so far too. I especially enjoy the motorcycle aspect. The family business villain setup also gives me Gavv vibes, but I have a feeling this series might handle it a bit better for me personally.

I’m also really curious to see what the newest family member is all about and who that wolf-looking monster might be!

Drop your thoughts below and enjoy the ride!

The two episode episodic standalone arcs started with Den O, and stopped at Wizard, with Gaim going back to serialized storytelling and continuing all the way to current times. Den O was such a winning formula for Toei, that they decided to run out the episodic trend until it was time to stop. One reason why people didn't mind watching Fuuto PI before W is because you can jump in and not get lost because it's episodic.

W was also a turning point for Toei, as it was at the time their highest overall grossing Tokusatsu of all time at the time. The key factor in that was it was the first Kamen Rider to have an emphasis on "collectable toys", the Gaia memories in this case. Of course, the current season we have Capsems. They've tried "cards" (particularly ripoff Yu-Gi-Oh cards) in the past, but cards don't sell well for anthology seasons. Gotchard saw a bit of a dip because they tried to go with cards. Every season after W employed collectable toys and that buried Sentai even further (only thing keeping Sentai profitable is Power Rangers toy sales in the US)

You caught onto the drug analogy very quickly! Although the name helps. Dopant--dope.

what I like about the Gaia Memories is you could think about anything and there may be a memory of it. There are even future memories that are ones you may not even think are possible. Also like I asked last time, do you understand the pictures on the memories (also like I said if you don't, I can explain it)

Sorry for the double post, but I didn't realize the informant guy was showing up. He needs an explanation, or rather his actor does. You see, he was the victim of a rather cruel reality TV show. For said show he was locked in an apartment and had everything taken away from him, including his clothes, and told to survive on nothing by sweepstakes. He was given only magazines to enter the sweepstakes from and a few crackers to not starve to death. He survive on uncooked rice and dog food that he was able to win from those sweepstakes. The challenge was to win prizes totally 1 million yen, but when he won he was taken to South Korea, locked in another room, had his clothes taken away again and told he needed to do it again, with the prize being plane tickets home. When he won very quickly, they just changed the rules and did so multiple times. They didn't let him go for over 2 years. Even then they lied to him and told him the show wouldn't be aired until later while showing it live and without his consent. It did get him famous enough to land a gig on this show, though, and he did write a best selling book about the experience and launched a comedy career. So it turned out okay for him.

Damn I forgot Marina was a snake 😭

Fun fact: Phillip's actor was 15 during the time of filming for W and this is one of his breakthrough roles before becoming a huge actor in Japan

this episode we see two more of W's memories Heat: pretty self explanatory it increases attack power by adding the fire element Metal: a durable form that also comes with the Metalshaft weapon the base form of W's bike (black and green) is the Hardboilder the flying unit is the turbular making the Hardturbular another little fun fact the Black and green color scheme is a nod to the showa era riders of ichigo and black. it was apparently a tough sell to the production staff

Gotchard is one I'm not looking forward to after hearing everyone's opinions. Lol

Anriku

Love the more mature tone with that!

Anriku

I believe I understand the pictures. Ty. Definitely love the versatility of these powers.

Anriku

Silver lining for the guy I guess. XD

Anriku

That's awesome. Good for him.

Anriku

That bike name. Lol. Hope I can remember that.
