We're finally on the world stage, and it's already obvious the power levels are ramping up fast. The big question now is: will our team rise to the challenge, or get left behind?

I really enjoyed this episode as a setup for the second half of the season. That said... Gramps has some explaining to do. 😅 "I did it to protect you" just isn't enough when the team was already caught up in everything with Kageyama back in Seasons 1 and 2. So... where was he during all of that? 😂

My guess is it's one of those quirks that comes from adapting an ongoing game, where the story is still being built as it goes. Either way, I'm excited to see where things head next.

Drop your thoughts below and enjoy the ride!

Well if you remember The old man and the boy who was in the car with him did appear in the season 3 premiere, where the boy asked him ''When I will get to meet him'' then the old man said ''The door to the world will open very soon and then you will definitely see him there, Mamoru'' Infact we saw all of Edgar, FIdio, Mark and Dylan in the S3 premiere too not sure about Teres and we didn't see Mac Roniejo.

21:35 name of Zeus OST is but yeah

And yeah Endou's name is Mark in the dub so a funny situation that happened was both Endou and the actual Mark were called Mark in the dub.

Finally we get to the world stage, and trust me, you are not ready for the ichinose development, the slander is gonna be out of this planet: And also, who is your top favourite character btw?

star light

Yeah I agree that what Endou's grandfather did is wild but atleast he had a good reason as I am sure Kageyama wasn't going to stop until his feeling of revenge was satisfied. And as for Endou getting involved anyway well the only reason he did was because he revived the Raimon soccer club and started winning in the football frontier thus becoming a threat to Kageyama in his eyes. Plus this is still developing so we will definitely learn more about this whole situation. But yeah him not coming back in season 1 or 2 is definitely a quirk of each Inazuma Eleven game story written before they know if there will be another game.

One thing I like about this series is how the Japanese kanji in the names tell you a lot about the characters. Toramaru is made up of 虎 “tora” meaning tiger, and 丸 “maru” meaning circle, round or correct. 丸 is pretty interesting because in maritime terms it can also be added to the end of Japanese merchant and commercial ship names (e.g., Nippon Maru), symbolizing a complete, safe vessel or circle of protection. Toramaru’s character is meant to represent the typical young boy and what boys think is cool, hence the tiger theme. So it’s more likely they added maru to his name as it’s used in boys' childhood names or as an affectionate suffix for pets and cartoon characters to imply roundness or endearment. So you have the contrast between a fierce tiger and the “roundness” or innocence of a young boy. I think here, “roundness” might also refer to his innate talent in soccer and his limitless potential in the sport that he has not yet realised. Usually character names tell you a lot about the character but Toramaru’s was the hardest to figure out etymologically because it is such a strange name. They could have given him a more conventional name like Kotaro, which also uses 虎 kanji. Utsunomiya is a real name, I have friends whose family name is Utsunomiya. It’s probably the most “normal” name in the series. In Japan many family names are named after the place they reside in or were created. It is a place name, Utsunomiya City in Tochigi. It’s known as the gyoza capital of Japan with over 300 gyoza restaurants. According to Japanese family name records, most people named Utsunomiya come from Tochigi, Tokyo, or Hyogo prefecture. So that gives you an idea of where the anime is set. You should go there if you ever get the chance to go to Japan.

I always enjoyed that in anime. When a name has meaning.. I mean most names across cultures have meaning , but I like how they relate it to the character.
