I loved the humanization and focus on Rex and Cut in this arc. It was especially cool seeing Rex understand where Cut was coming from and ultimately decide to keep his secret.

And anytime Grievous shows up, you already know we’re in for some hype!

Drop your thoughts below, and enjoy the ride!

- Master Adi Gallia was a Tholothian from the planet Tholoth. Near-human in appearance, though with their distinctive jellyfish-like head tails and possibly slightly more colorful skin. - The fast and nimble droids carrying vibroblades are the commando droids. The large droids with the staffs are magna guards, typically employed as Grievous’ personal guard, though used by other high ranking CIS members as well, such as Dooku in the theatrical release. The magna guards were actually a concept design for Grievous before his final design was settled. - After the Republic’s transition into the Empire, Admiral Yularen retired from the navy and became a colonel for the Imperial Security Bureau (ISB). He was the gentleman in the white uniform in Episode 4, not being choked by Vader, but watching it happen. He’d then go on to appear in Andor. - Blue lightsabers are the most common and are typically wielded by Jedi who are attuned with the force on a more physical level, often representing justice and wielded by knights/guardians. Green lightsabers are the second most common and are used by Jedi who have a much deeper connection to the force, choosing to focus more on force abilities than lightsaber combat, often representing wisdom and wielded by masters. The rank and colors are not mutually exclusive, it’s just that some are more likely to be associated with certain colors. - Cut is the biological father. His children’s skin is very splotchy, partially blue Twilek skin and partially tan clone skin, a very unique detail to only those children. - I agree that this arc was a very good attempt at humanizing the clones further and addressing the concept of choice. These themes have been present since the first arc of the show and they’ll continue to become only more prevalent as the war progresses.

Great reaction! I believe the Jedi were involved in the death of Grievous’ wife or something

Grievous was a Kaleesh warlord whose planet was invaded by an insectoid species from a neighboring system called the Huk. Grievous met his love during the war but she was subsequently killed, putting him on the full warpath. Grievous and the Kaleesh managed to repel the Huk and then took the fight to the Huk’s homeworld as revenge for all the lives lost. The Huk then went to the Jedi and had them send knights to Kalee to investigate, where the Jedi were then manipulated into believing that the Kaleesh were the aggressors. This idea was taken back with the Jedi to the Senate and in turn the Senate placed massive embargo’s on Kalee, leading to mass famines and death across the planet. Grievous being a warlord also had many children with many wives and so many of his children starved to death in these famines. Grievous’ hatred for the Jedi was born here and he would slaughter any Jedi representatives who came to Kalee. This being a not so easy task, it drew the attention of Count Dooku. On a shuttle to meet with Dooku, the ship was sabotaged to blow by Dooku and Grievous was nearly killed. In his unconscious state, Dooku had Grievous’ body effectively destroyed, save for his most vital organs (brain, eyes, lungs, etc) and put him through the cyborg procedure. Upon his awakening, Dooku lied to Grievous and blamed the shuttle detonation on the Jedi. He then gave Grievous the choice to either became the grand general of the CIS droid armies, or to die. Grievous made his decision.

I think part of the reason for Rex's initial hostility towards Cut was due to that nasty business with Slick. But he soon realized that the two are nothing alike. Slick willfully betrayed his comrades for money in a misguided ploy to prove his individuality. Cut survived a horrified trauma and moved past it create something meaningful.

Great insight. That makes a lot of sense to me.
