I would not be surprised if some of the fantasy world people team up with the JSDF to help take down the Emperor. I need more worldbuilding before saying for sure that will happen. Interested to see what happens in Episode 3!

This is awesome! I'm glad to see you return to the series. More people need to react to this amazing anime. It gets so good.

...I might just cry, dude, because the fact I get to see you watch, start to finish, ANOTHER series from 2015 that got interrupted and put on hold for so long is... surreal, considering that was the year I started to consume a lot of your pre-existing reactions, from DanMachi to Seraph to Prison School, even Parasyte! Feels good to see another chapter from back then be given time once more! :D Plus, y'know, I also have a special connection to this series since it's one of a few series I did manage to review start to finish weekly, and I love the characters/world so damn much!

Might I say, the aesthetic design of this series is sincerely appreciated, considering it makes the whole scenario more believable/enjoyable when the residents of this world are wearing outfits appropriate for "medieval times" and the empire's court, as well as the emperor himself, were wearing Roman/Greek-esque attire, and it contrasts so well with the modern day military clothing of the JSDF! It is, indeed, an "alien invasion" that goes both ways, one side started it so the other side retaliates, and the clothing/technological differences certainly drive that fact home well enough!

AlduicS

GATE does a wonderful job at capturing the overwhelming technological differences of the two connected worlds, as well as the sheer terror/confusion that can be brought about by fighting someone leagues above yourself in many aspects... Could you imagine how we'd feel if suddenly a civilization far more advanced suddenly invaded us? Shit's scary, that's for sure, and there'd certainly be tons of confusion among the information shared too!

AlduicS

I will say, Mr. Emperor, "scorched earth tactics" are certainly a reasonable & usable means of interfering with the opposing enemy, it is a tried & true method utilized to great military effect in our world, albeit the fact it's... unbelievably cruel... Napoleon's advance into Russia was halted by said tactics, if I recall correctly, so it does have merit but I cannot help but feel absolutely terrible for the towns/villages burnt down, the poisoned wells, the lost lives...

Oh I know all about scorched earth tactics. Lol. Of course it's effective but it can lead to some outcomes the user might not like.

Do you like (the Princess) Piña... Coladas~? Or just getting caught in the rain~? Yes, I know, it's not entirely accurate but I'm a dork that makes these types of dumb jokes to suit my commenting needs! XD

AlduicS

"I'll kill you if you badmouth my waifu" = the single greatest, most relatable line ever spoken in this medium of entertainment, all from our "work for your hobbies" home boy, Itami Youji! XD

AlduicS

"(Survivor) Elf" Acquired, "Other World's Language Guidebook" Acquired, "Commander Of JSDF Recon Team Three" Title Acquired, "Hostile Red Dragon" Located... Itami's making waves already, though he wishes he wasn't this (un)fortunate! XD

It's been a long time coming. Not sure what else from the past I'd be able to pick back up if someone recommends it. Can't remember which series I liked and which I'd rather not touch again. LMAO!
