There is a TLDR Mark for just the critical bits. If you don't want to read the wall-of-text-explanation, skip down to where it says - TLDR Starts Here-.

Alright, everyone! I closed down the sort-of-final relationship poll for Displaced Hero a day early so I could separate this announcement from the results of the monthly poll. This one needs enough discussion that I felt it would be better not to cram them together and, frankly, there had been all of two additional votes added to it after the latest Displaced Hero release. Since there were a total of 263 votes, the additions were negligible, and I didn't see that changing. Everyone who wanted to vote seems to have done so. So...let us peek at the results first!

---------------

OC Sith Girl: 39%

No More Girls: 22%

Light Side Asajj Ventress: 15%

Asora Tuzm: 14%

Luxum - The Iron Knight: 9%

---------------

Well, that's a pretty clear victory. Not quite an outright majority, but more than double the next contender, which was just to not add another girl at all. I admit, I'm a little baffled. I never expected an original character who is, for all intents and purposes, just a sight-unseen idea, to pull a victory in a relationship poll. I've never even done an established OC in a relationship before, since I tend to assume people prefer to see canon characters involved in them :-p.

The people have spoken, however!

You lot want Hot Sith Girl goodness, so we're getting Hot Sith Girl goodness!

That said, there is a reason I called the poll out as 'sort of final' at the start of the post. Our nebulous Sith Girl is locked in to the harem/polycule now. Buuuuutttt she's a bit of a nebulous existence! We know what species she's going to be! Awesome! We also know that she's going to be a bit more of a Grey/Neutral Force User (though not an outright Darksider). However, that's all the definition I put into the idea of her for the voting.

As a result, I've been toying with possible options. It was pretty clear she was winning for the last couple of weeks, so I've had time to consider how I wanted to do this. I want to create an OC that is going to fit with what people were voting for, despite the nebulousness of the concept provided, while I also being something I feel I can write. To the end, I've been brainstorming a bit, both about how to run a follow up poll and about the character herself. I've even gone so far as booting up SWTOR, which I hadn't played in years, and running through the only one of the core stories that I've never played (Sith Inquisitor, for the curious). Which has been moderately fun, I have to admit. Even if I'm not a big fan of the story in that path so far (and hate every single one of it's companions so far), it's still been good for getting into the mindset for brainstorming a bit.

- TLDR Starts Here-

The result of all of this is that I've drawn up concepts for four possible variants of the Sith Girl character. I don't want the poll to be too spoiler heavy, so what I'm currently doing is working on creating general 'profiles' for each variant. There will be slight spoilers, since I'll be doing a brief background blurb to explain where each one would come from. Aside from that, however, I'll also be including some general details for each one. Such as their skill sets (Force and Otherwise), general personality traits, and...well...kinks and switch/sub orientation. I'm not blind to the fact you lot are perverts, you know. It's okay, I obvious am too ;-).

Anyway, all of that massive wall of text to say: Within the next few days, hopefully on the 26th or 27th, there will be a new poll up. It will include the profiles I'm working on and allow people to vote on which variant sounds the most interesting. Hopefully, this will work to refine the idea into something that actually matches what people were hoping for.

One final note, just since I mentioned playing SWTOR for ideas. No, none of the ideas will be either of the Sith playable characters from SWTOR. Frankly, both of them get far too hideously powerful for that. There may be some story tie-ins related to them with a couple of the options though ;-).

Eh i feel with the Sith Girl you can pull some more bs off with and add more to the story with them

Do they have to actually be force-trained? Whether or not they are "strong enough" to make training worthwhile, what if they haven't actually had any kind of training in the force formal or otherwise. Might be fun to have a more soldier/commando/etc type character that just had "knack for combat" and "hunches" and maybe some telekinetic "tricks" all the while missing that their resiliency, strength, etc are also from the force. Or maybe they don't even know it is the force. The general public doesn't know all that much about the Jedi/what the force is/can do. Part of their introduction/start of their relationship could come from asking Izuku to train her and/or because being around him makes her relax/be less angry. Especially if she doesn't even know what species she is, just that as time passed she seems to just keep getting angrier and angrier and more and more aggressive at lesser provocations. It's the Dark Side influencing her more and more as time goes on, likely from unknowingly tapping into it at times/during some stressful situations and/or because the Veil has been growing stronger. But being around Izuku clears the Dark side away, and she feels like she can breath again and he can do things she wants to learn (would be cool for Izuku to teach someone else his telekinetic fighting style/have someone else able to use the shield units and to see Izuku as a teacher. Plus, he is a Non-jedi, and thus his teaching a Sith cannot get Him in trouble with the Order in the same way any of the jedi doing so might). Just some ideas to promote possibility for a non-time travel origin. Celeste has already been "brought forward", and Ood Bnar has been "revived", and Fay is centuries old (not to mention Yoda, but that's because he isn't really a part of Izuku and company's story) so it feels like you've got enough "personage from the past" characters. I'd think a clone/escaped experiment (whether she herself escaped, or someone else escaped with her as an infant or something) would be more interesting (plus she could have been created in an Arkanian lab, which could bring them in as a secondary source of cloning, especially as I am pretty sure there is a lost Sith Temple on their ice planet homeworld, so her genetic material could have been found in some ice flow or something). Feel free to disregard or use any/all of this. I just wanted to put out a different possibility to the SWTOR game as an origin/basis for the character. Just because she is Sith species doesn't mean she has to have any connection to Sith society or culture- be that the force-faction, pre-baneite Sith, or the Sith species society/culture. And to bring up the fun possibility, at least for me to think about, of her not even knowing what species she is to start with.

Yes. They have to be a trained Force user in some capacity, as that was literally one of the only two characteristics that I provided in the description for the poll. That doesn't mean they are fully trained, but they will have had at least some training. There is no need to mess with cloning or escaped experiments. There are at least two sources of living Sith alive during the Era this is set in. The Sorcerers of Tund are still around, being mixed descent of pure Sith, Massassi and Kissai. And The Lost Tribe of Sith, though they hybridized to the point of barely being recognizably Sith, a genetic oddity could still be fairly Sith Pureblood looking. At least one, possibly two, of the profiles will be from these sources.

Keht Jelicho

Ok cool, also the "genetic oddity" you mentioned has a name. Genetic, or biological, Atavism. I can no longer remember the original source/reason I did a deep look into it some time in the past but it was such a fascinating concept that the name for it has stuck around as a bit of random trivia. As for force training, did you already mention the Wardens of the Sky force sensitive "group" in a previous chapter? I know more than one fic has mentioned them but can only remember one actively using them. Besides them there are the Matukai, Fallanasi and of course the Whills- both the Disciples of the Whills and the Guardians of the Whills. And there are other force sensitive factions but those are the five (besides the already visited Night sisters and the like on Dathomir) that I have come across/looked into before as far as non-jedi force sensitives that can give "some training" without being jedi-trained in using the force, particularly if not "fully trained" or not so by jedi standards.

Novus's Fanfiction Works

Ah, yeah, I've heard the term before but couldn't come up with it on the spot like you did :-p. Yes, the Wardens of the Sky have appeared very briefly, and will appear again in the next release actually. The one warden that was named previously was name dropped by Izuku in the last batch of chapters, but I suspect few people remembered the name. I never said anything about being Jedi trained. Just trained. Specifically by a ground that at least dabbles in the Dark Side since the premise of the character I provided was that they would be more 'Grey,' either someone who used both (unlikely, I dislike that road) or someone who was trained Dark Side but overcame the training. Most of the modern Force Factions wouldn't qualify, save for, again, the Sorcerers of Tund. Who will be part of the background for one of the variants.

The Disciples of the Whills "believed that both the light and dark side of the Force were valuable, believing for the light to exist there must be dark, and that the Force must remain in balance." From what I can find on them at least (much more on the Guardians of the Whills, and their iconic individually handcrafted weapons, the lightbow, sound like they'd be a fascinating weapon to get featured). They at least seem like they would be supportive/tolerant of a Sith-Species and how they're, in lore, "naturally connected to the dark side" or whatever it is for the Sith species (I remember there was something about them that made them either predisposed to connect through emotions/passions or that they just simply have an innate connection to the dark side like other species are just innately force sensitive, but I cannot remember the details for the Sith species atm). That may be going against how you are portraying the force and/or the dark side specifically though. I am pretty sure you are, correctly, portraying the Veil as unnatural and externally induced, but cannot for sure say if you're portraying the "dark side" as just another part of the force or as a corrupted almost cancerous element that the Sith/dark side users twisted into place and have been perpetuating. Or perhaps a bit of both in that the current "dark side" is a twisted and tormented version of what was just another aspect of the living force (the emotive aspect? And that's why being around Izuku is so jarring for jedi because it lets them feel the force's emotional aspect/emotions without the corruption and twisting that the sith/dark side has done to that aspect of the force?). Basically I don't know if you agree with the priestly/philosophical aspect of the Disciples, but I could see them having both Jedi and Sith/Light and Dark force relics and records/teachings. At the least on the philosophy of both ways of sensing/using the force, but possibly on actual techniques. Plus they had a close connection with the Guardians and I believe both groups supported various orphanages. That said I think the Guardians are much less tolerant towards the Dark. So now (and I have no idea where/what to use/do with them) I find myself dreaming up a Sith-species character that grew up in an orphanage on Jedha, listening to the Disciples preach on the force, learning to meditate to listen and try to understand the force from the Disciples, and hearing their beliefs that both the light and dark side are valuable. But also really admiring either the Guardians as a whole, or possibly a specific member they look up to, and thus they want to be a Guardian like them. The Guardians as a whole don't really trust her because of her species, but her age and the Disciples protect her. She learns a bit by sneaking around (plus a natural talent for cloaking themselves) and spying on the various lessons. But she also has one particular older Disciple she goes to for comfort, particularly when their darker emotions/aggressive instincts flare up and seem to encourage her to use them to lash out in the force. Not fully sure (would need to really go more indepth on Jedha/both organizations and various conflicts) but would think that eventually she'd get involved in something (either sticking her nose where it didn't belong or simply as collateral damage when it happens without any connection to her) where the particular Guardian and/or Disciple is under threat/hurt and she tries to defend/save them and ends up lashing out with the Dark Side in the attempt. Perhaps it is successful, perhaps it is too late, but regardless it ends with her fleeing the planet in shame (possibly while taking the Guardians Light Bow if they had passed) but she is followed by the force ghost of either or both of her mentors as well who seek to help her maintain balance/not fall completely to darkness in her despair and guilt and fear of what she did. So yeah, I guess just consider that character background a little tribute fanfic draft/thing for what your story and this new character and what it has inspired me to dream up for a "Sith-species character during the clone wars/prequel-era timeline" (I like theory crafting character origins/backstories- I have more fun designing D&D characters/planning out their builds/level progressions than ever in actually playing, and this new OC character has just hit all the right buttons to send me off wanting to design my own, even though I'll likely never go beyond it to writing out a story)

Novus's Fanfiction Works

The Sith being predisposed toward the Dark Side is...dubious. A huge chunk of the species were natively Force Sensitive, and predators by nature, something which led to them slowly developing a sort of symbiotic relationship with the Dark Side. It's arguably a learned dependence, rather than truly natural, though. It was also something unique to the original Sith Species, prior to their hybridization with humans after the Human Dark Jedi fleeing the Hundred Year Darkness conquered them. The True, non-Hybridized version of the Sith was virtually extinct even by the time of the Great Hyperspace War (5000 BBY). So I'm unsure if the 'Sith Purebloods' that are what most people consider Sith, retained that predisposition. More of their species had lost their Force Sensitivity entirely by that point, after all. The Dark Side is unnatural. That's just flat canon in both current canon and Legends, so I've taken that stance. There is only The Force and the Unnatural Twisting that is the Darkside. Also, remember that Izuku specifically is almost completely unable to access the Living Force at all. His Cheat Code Quirk basically provides him a direct link to the Cosmic Force, not the Living Force. His only access to the Living Force is actually through Aayla. Without their bond, he'd likely be one of the few living beings in the entire Galaxy utterly unable to touch the Living Force, since his Quirk essentially makes him a giant Midi-chlorian. Which are the sentient translators between the Cosmic Force and mortals. Your idea is interesting, but not really viable with how close to Legends canon I've tried to keep general groups/events, unless they've been impacted by the changes Izuku has made. The Jedi have frequent contact with Jedha. It would be VERY unlikely that they wouldn't be aware of a Sith Species member popping up there. Particularly when they've been looking into everything Sith related for the last 7 years or so. Still a neat idea, though!
