One Piece: Halfway Broken 80-81 (Patreon)

Alright! First of the month, means first fic release of the month! Chapters 80 & 81 of Halfway Broken bring just shy of another 5,500 words to the fic, and push certain things forward. Both on the relationship front with Robin, and on showing off what the next arc is going to be. Said arc isn't going to be a terribly long one. It might finish this month, or might extend into the first release of next month, but it's unlikely to carry longer than that. After that will be a short East Blue arc, followed by starting their traveling/training, with will be an extended arc that covers several canon and original stops through the timeskip period.

Anyway! As usual, the new stuff is attached here in various formats, I'll be posting new Master Files in the Pinned Post once I make some edits to correct typos Foreign Traveler has found (Thanks Traveler!), and I'll put author's notes in the comments below. Enjoy the release!

*Note: Art is all AI generated. Technically, I know who generated two of the three, but I can't bring myself to support AI 'artists' that run Patreons. So no links this time. You can image search them easily enough if you want to find out for yourself.

Chapter 80: A/N 1: Sorry this chapter is so short, folks. Originally I was going to bundle this release all into one chapter. But the transition between lemon and the next arc was just too awkward, so I split it up. A/N 2: Don't worry that the lemon is a short one if you're hoping for more Robin ;-). She's got arguably one of the best DFs for kinky shenanigans in the entirety of One Piece. There will be plenty more of her in the future. I just wanted to keep the initial sex scene with her fairly tame, by my standards at least.

Chapter 81: A/N 1: Shiki! Mwhwhahah, no I didn't mention him several times for no reason. I actually took the time to watch the Strong World film, something which I hadn't before (Honestly, it's actually pretty solid). As near as I can tell, the movie is set pretty close to the Sabaody Archipelago Arc, which made this a good place to include it. Technically, I moved it on the timeline a bit, but I figure that's easy to justify via Butterfly Effect. After all, Shiki has contact with the Grand Line for recruitment, which means it should have been aware in this version of the upcoming confrontation between Whitebeard and the Marines. Something that was MUCH more heavily public this time. Given he's legendary for planning, I see no reason he WOULDN'T wait and take advantage of the best possible time to launch his own attempt at world conquest...

Nice to see Robin properly lewded, and that they have a plan going forward for her seduction. But damn, gonna have to deal with Shiki after all huh? At least it should be a good way to push Luffy's skills.

Yep, that's sort of why I reserved Shiki for them instead of the Marines. There are only so many truly high-level targets outside the New World. Shiki is someone that will still be a challenge for them.

I've never actually watched any of the OP movies, besides some info about Shiki I have no idea how this arc will play out. I did notice that Shiki recruited some pirate crews, any chance you're about to get rid of a scummy annoying redheaded pirate Novus? Thank you for the update.

I hadn't watched any of them either until working on this fic. Sadly, no on the redheaded pirate crew. Strong World Shiki had recruited a ton of rando pirate crews, rather than anyone of note. None of the Supernovas would be likely to work under someone else without being forced.

I don't know if you are open to going back and editing the chapter, but the sheer chances required to randomly find the island while traveling, and be looking at the right time to save Xiao, probably should have had Fortune's Favor dice rolling away. I suppose it might even have been able to nudge the villagers into talking about valuable information where they could be heard.

Actually, not really. Merville started from virtually the same point the Starhats did, somewhere nearby to the Sabaody Archipelago, and it's headed to the exact same place (the East Blue generally). It would have been harder to MISS it than to encounter it, really.

Shiki… I’m not as worried as I had once been, especially since Luffy and Yamato managed to take down Doffy and one of the Elders (with help from a certain First Mate of Roger’s of course.) Still worried though but at least I’m no longer biting my finger nails. They can get through the challenge before them, they just have to be smart and careful about this…

I honestly wasn't all that impressed with Shiki's power level when I watched the Film. He's absolutely dangerous to them, and will push them hard, with the film Luffy having again mostly won on luck and someone badly underestimating him. But this Luffy, with the backup he has, is on a much better footing...

Agreed and though I haven’t seen the movie myself, I wasn’t too impressed by Shiki’s power either. I still consider him dangerous though since it took both Garp and Sengoku to beat him and their battle destroyed about…half of Marineford?
