Tally ho! Let us sally forth to new Displaced Hero chapters! Though, if you haven't read it yet, please check out the notice I posted yesterday, as it has some important bits of information for March. Also, note that the art isn't AI for once, being a work I grabbed from Deviantart, specifically so I could bring up that a new character I introduced is a Zabrak.

Seriously, I tried inserting that fact several times into the bit she appeared in, and it just didn't work without feeling super awkward. Anyway, the minor character 'Major Averin Trizt' is a female Zabrak. The only reason I'm bothering to highlight that fact is that she's the very first member of the Sovereign's Guards that has actually been named, and is thus highly likely to be used (or at least mentioned) again in the future.

Anyway, this release, like the last one, jumps around a bit. Some of the bits happening in different chapters to different people are in fact happening at more or less the same time, so keep an eye on the date headers. The point of it is to push through the remaining time before the Clone Wars fairly quickly. Though, a note on that for the Star Wars Lore geeks out there. It's been highlighted in fic several times that the Hutt Crusades and Jedi anti-corruption raids slowed Sidious down, so the Clone Wars won't start until near the end of 21 BBY, not 'sometime in 22 BBY' as they did in canon.

This set of chapters gets us to the very end of 23 BBY, so it should only be one or two more releases before the Clone Wars proper starts. Enjoy the ride, including some steamy fun with Zavra ;-).

As usual, the new stuff is attached to this post in various formats, and I'll be posting new Master Files in the Pinned Post. I'll also put author's notes in the comments below when I have time. Enjoy more of 'Can One Displaced Hero Save the Galaxy?'!

Chapter 122 A/N 1: So, the adventure with the Lost Stars of Nallastia was originally in Star Wars Adventures 1-3, and it should have been Obi-wan and Anakin. It really was supposed to happen in 23 BBY, so I decided to hijack it via Butterfly Effect. Both as something for Aayla to do, and because those power gems were a tempting solution to the Throne Worlds...

Chapter 123 A/N 1: Here we see some different perspectives on the Separatist Crisis as it really gets rolling. Dooku's Raxsus address would originally have happened in 24 BBY, but got delayed here by the Hutt Crusade drawing too much attention. Likewise, a few people have changed positions, or shuffled where they stand. Padme is the most obvious, not a part of the Peace Party this time and also not on the Loyalist Committee.

Chapter 124 A/N 1: I really wanted to show at least one 'date' type event with Zavra, since she hasn't gotten a lot of one-on-one attention with Izuku. I think the pod-racing worked well there, fitting firmly into her personality much better than more sterotypical dates would have. Hopefully you enjoyed it...and the follow on lemon :-p. A/N 2: The Force Bond expanding to include at least the other Force Sensitives in the harem was something I intended from the start. Zavra is simply the first one who clicked completely enough with both of them for it to happen. If Mei was Force Sensitive, it would have already happened with her...but she isn't. Not yet, at least. They DO kinda know how to make people Force Aware now...

Chapter 125 A/N 1: Grevious is already becoming Grevious, so the events on Kalee aren't going to turn him away from killing Jedi. The not-really-Jedi of the League, though? Well...that might be a different case. A/N 2: Celeste is closing in on answers! What will this mean for the future...

Chapter 126 A/N 1: The Hutt Crusade is nearly over. I never intended to draw it out too long, as the League needs time to uplift as many of those worlds to their standards as they can, expanding their industrial base and recruiting heavily for the war they can see coming. The fact taking the Hutt throneworlds just happens to provide them with the massive surge in wealth to do so, so long as they don't overplay their hand, will help them manage it far faster than would normally be plausible.

Delphinous

i'm actually really entertained that now the League's budgets is YES and their warchest is full to overflowing.

Daemonioros

These chapters really set up the following parts of the story nicely. The part I liked the most was actually Padme pivoting to not really opposing the military creation act but working to make it a bill less easily exploited. If there are officer corps in training and provisions on how to pay the troops then both setting up the clones as the obvious solution as well as more importantly getting the Jedi as generals will be much harder. Wonder what contingencies Palpatine will have here. In canon it was pretty much all exactly to plan for him. So how does he (possibly fail to) deal with variables

After 3000 years we’re finally free! Cant wait to see how their empire grows from this victory

As always, I'm enjoying the worldbuilding and development leading up to the Clone Wars, although by now I'm quite curious how the clones will be introduced to the galaxy and what the inciting incident will be. Also, it's lovely to see the Hutt kajidics get what they so richly deserve.

Regarding Izuku's closing thoughts re. budgets, he still has to worry about them, it's just that his worries aren't about shortfall, but instead about the economic impacts of spending, as noted before. On the plus side, it gives the League yet another lever of power to use in galactic relations, both diplomatically through trade and stimulus, and militarily in potentially being able to crash a local economy or outbid opponents if necessary.

Finally, a worldbuilding suggestion/minor nitpick regarding the Sovereign's Guards: consider placing one of the platoons on rebuild instead of having two with Izuku at all times. Instead of rotating the combat platoon straight into bodyguard work, give them a chance to take leave, catch up on training and certification, debrief outgoing members and onboard incoming members, and generally rest, heal, and handle logistics. Besides the administrative benefits, this also lets Guards coming from active and intense combat come down off the edge and ground themselves prior to stepping into a different kind of high stress situation requiring equal or greater awareness but with less hair trigger and more diplomacy, and in general it will be better for the health, morale, and retention in the Guards. (sidenote: this is basically the system I came up with for ANBU while worldbuilding a Naruto fic I never got around to writing, hence why it jumped to mind immediately like this)

NotableRonin

I don’t know if you noticed, but the post and the files say chapter 222-226 rather than chapter 122-126

Tsorov

As far as we know the clones are getting some upgrades too, i think the Kaminoas wanted to get started on cloning from a few different donors? But I agree, getting the Jedi as Generals will be far more difficult, not only because there alredy exists a framework, but also because many of them have already been bloodied in the Hutt Crusade. They know of their capabilities and shortcomings, and even the ones who didn't join will still profit from their experience. Adding to that, the Jedi Temples own fleet would be a far more reasonable place for Jedi to be stationed, and even there they will rely on already established officers. Another point against Palpatine, that even if he should win the war, cleansing an entire officer corp of Republic Symphatisants would be impossible. The clones could be phased out because they were indoctrinated to follow orders, an established officer corp with chains of command will be far harder to displace/replace.

Novus's Fanfiction Works

I did not, in fact, notice I had made that mistake T-T. Still, it's not actually hurting anything, so I'll probably just leave it...

Novus's Fanfiction Works

That's already what is happening with the Guards. The whole reason he has two Platoons with him is so they can rotate who is actively 'on duty' and who is 'off duty' but technically available if needed. I just didn't see a need to bog down the already exposition-heavy section of explanation, in the middle of what was supposed to be a tense stealth operation, with a fully detailed breakdown like that :-p.

Novus's Fanfiction Works

Yep. A bit of a spoiler, but you and Tsorov have both already clued into what is building in the background. It's going to be hard, bordering on impossible, to slot the Jedi into the plan the way Palpatine wants to have happen. It will also be a LOT harder for the Republic to treat the clones like slave soldiers...if there's already a set of legal provisions for service in the Republic military. Padme has no idea she's completely fucking with Palpatine's plans, in a way that's going to be incredibly hard for him to argue against.

Novus's Fanfiction Works

:-p. At least 'Yes' so long as they don't accidentally destroy the galactic economy in the process. Though that WOULD be an ironic way to accidentally stop the war. Interviewer: "So, how did you stop the war?" League Historian: "Um...well...we cause a massive galactic economic recession that bankrupted the people trying to build all the weapons? We might, maybe, possibly have caused more people to starve to death than would have died in the fighting though..."

Delphinous

i mean, his budget is in literal treasures and goods and materials of vast value. even if the broader economy collapses, he will still have thos treasures lol. and, as events from the world wars on up to modern day events with the russia/ukraine war and associated sanctions, while a lack of funds can help limit a war. a lack of funds won't really do anything to end a war.

Novus's Fanfiction Works

True, but treasures I kinda useless if no one will buy them :-p. The old joke of 'priceless' being another word for 'worthless' because no one can afford them.

Phil Meyering

Nice chapters! This was a fun read, can't wait till next ones.

Oh, Aayla. The Force just wants to make a joke of you while helping you save your galaxy. Also, mmmm, Sith Booty...

Machina

Hey, not much focus has gone on about zavras cybernetics besides her sex ones, I was wondering if they are still actively looking into that with the goal of at least izuku and aayla getting them. I was just rereading the fic and the part where they find zavra made a point of how good her cybernetics were so I was just wondering if we might see our cast get a bit of an upgrade soon.

Novus's Fanfiction Works

*blink* Did you miss where she showed modern versions of her bone, muscle, and skin weave to Izuku recently?

Gscruiser

Just noticed this but somehow the chapters jumped by a hundred there. Any chance on a reupload so my sorting doesn't hate me? xD
