Quick reminder, there is still a poll ongoing for the next Stripper With a System Summons! Shockingly, the non-horny option is winning!

Now, with that reminder out of the way, time for the first Displaced Hero release of the month! Remember, now that I've switched to a full time schedule, you're getting two of these, with the other one scheduled for the 24th ;-). Each will be around 10k, so the total word count for the story will be higher for the month (by about 5K) in addition to the frequency increase.

As to the contents of this particular update, honestly the first two chapters is the remainder of what I'd hoped to squeeze in last month. Meaning it will go day-by-day and switch perspectives a lot to cover the starting rounds of the Clone Wars. The next chapter contains both a small lemon (which will likely be the last one for a while, given the war coming front and center), then does some set up for a shift back to Izuku and Aayla's perspective.

The pair are, at the core of things, still the primary protagonists of the story. Bouncing between all the other perspectives for a bit was required to set up a greater view of galactic events, but the next set up chapters will return us to a greater focus on Izuku/Aayala's viewpoint. What that view will be of should be pretty obvious by the way chapter 139 ends :-).

The new bits of story are attached here to the post like always. Do remember that I'm not going to update the Master Files in the Pinned Post just yet :-). It will be less of a pain in the ass for me to do that just once with the second updates for each story, each month. I'll will get around to adding some author's notes in the comments as quickly as possible, though! Enjoy more of Can One Displaced Hero Save the Galaxy?

Edit: You aren't crazy if you first saw the titles of everything being 138-139, not 140. A screw up on my part that I fixed quickly. The files aren't any different aside from the labeling.

Chapter 138: A/N 1: Not sure I mentioned this, but canonically Bail was the only serious competition Palpatine had in his bid for Chancellorship. So, with him surviving and Padmé throwing her weight behind him before being forced out by circumstances, he's the most likely result as an emergency election. Thankfully, as he's actually decently competent. A/N 2: I actually originally wasn't going to show the Council and Sidious's reaction, as I didn't consider either all that important. But a LOT of people were asking about them/seemed to be expecting them. So they got added to this chapters. A/N 3: Having the only way to keep Capital in touch with the rest of the galaxy gave Izuku a LOT of ability to strong arm some concessions out of the Republic. Though that won't endear many of them to him in the long run.

Chapter 139: A/N 1: I was actually surprised to discover that Pallaeon started out in the Judiciary Forces. The bits I included are actually entirely canon, at least for the EU. Including him apparently being skipped over for promotions due to being a womanizer. Since I wanted to use an actual Judiciary Forces officer for a perspective, I figured he was the perfect candidate, as he's actually a recognizable name for EU readers. A/N 2: The reveal of what Corellia was working on for New Construction! Old designs updates in a rush, but solid High Repulbic era designs. Admittedly, not a lot is known about them, details wise, so I'll be making up a lot of weapons numbers, sizes, and so forth. The Nighthawk is actually a design Koensayr was working on LATE in the Clone Wars. Given how short the Clone Wars actually were, though, I figure it was already in design phase, and Corellia pouring resources down their throat could get it ready. Particularly as the Clone Wars are starting a full year after they would have in canon. A/N 3: We get a bit of an explanation in this chapters about the both the Subjugators...and the League's Null Torpedo/Graviton Beam setup. I mentioned a long time ago (seemingly) that someone would eventually figure out how to counter that devastating combo. It DID get mentioned in later parts of the Crusade that people had figured the solution out, which was to project multiple layers of shields. It just so happens that, powered sufficiently, the same modification lessened the impact of the Subjugator MegaIon canons. As seen by how many smaller ships were disabled, it doesn't eliminate them as a threat, but it does make it possible the fight them.

Chapter 140: A/N 1: Sexy twin fantasies are a man's romance? Or something like that. Also, some women romance too, I won't judge ;-)! A/N 2: Yep. Like I said in the post, it should be pretty obvious how things will swing back around to Izuku/Aayla being the main viewpoint again, as they'll be headed into the Battle of Geonsis. Which will be a much nastier affair this time, in some ways, since the locals have had a chance to dig in. On the other hand, we'll get to see the League's military at work and some improvements made to them. As well as the first truly combat-trained Force Sensitives coming out of Ossus...

(For the chapter 138 notes) In the Phantom Menace, it was Bail Antilles, Bail Organa's predecessor, who ran against Palpatine. Unless you know something I don't about the 28 BBY elections. Still, his election mostly checks out, since Bail Organa would have likely inherited a solid chunk of Antilles' network. The fact that he was likely a nominal opponent of Palpatine while also being from a core world would give him a boost, along with Padme's efforts. Also, no one politically savvy would want to be in the hot seat with this particular disaster, so Organa might not have had much competition.

I can't remember if I've ever pointed this out before, but you use the word "farther" a lot when almost every time it should be "further". Not surprised to see some of the Jedi still being obstinate. Izuku not wanting to deal with politics is why I would never want to take over the world(s). Too many obnoxious people bothering me when I could be practicing space magic. Tftc

Novus's Fanfiction Works

Ah, I think you're right actually. I always get the two of them mixed up. Still, Organa took over directly from Antilles, so same power bloc.

Novus's Fanfiction Works

I have a really hard time with farther/further -_-. For some reason, I struggled to wrap my head around it. Also do keep in mind, though, that if you're reading the Early Access chapters it's with entirely self-editing, which makes it even harder to catch. A lot of times those are caught by either Foreign Traveler or by a couple of people on Scribblehub once they go public. I don't have a beta or anything, so there are always going to be some errors, particularly ones like that which are extra hard for me to spot in my own work.

"Which, as the home of the single oldest shipbuilding megacorp in the galaxy, was a lot of building slips." it's not like the corellians are proud about this and point it out every chance they get or anything, lol

Captain2003Rex

So, how’s this upcoming Battle of Geonosis going to compare to, oh say for instance, Landing At Point Rain? Cause that was already a *fun* time, without the extra buildup you’ve got for various factions here lol

Aeden Emrys

Thanks for these great chapters 😁! I hope to be reading much more of this greatly interesting story of yours 😁!

Novus's Fanfiction Works

To be fair, having the single oldest company in the entire Republic period IS pretty noteworthy, when said republic is 25,000 years old ;-).

Novus's Fanfiction Works

Well, the League has a LOT more experience with taking worlds than the Jedi managed to get, even by the end of the Clone Wars. So it won't be quite as much of a cluster fuck...on the other hand, it won't be anything like small, either :-p.

Delphinous

it just feels to me, that like how all youtubers ask you to subscribe, all corellians remind you that corellia is the home of the single oldest shipbuilding megacorp in the galaxy, so i laugh a little bit

The Foreign Traveler

Glad Bail is, likely, going to be Chancellor. Him, Padme, and Riyo Chuchi are the only ones I can think off the top of my head that would do a lot of good in that position. I’m also liking how the Jedi have gotten “better” to some degree but the second they even CONCEIVE of going after Izuku… I certainly won’t be rooting for THEM. Anyway, edits!
