Monthly Extra - The Misfit System (Patreon)

First off, don't lose track of the fact that Stripper With a System got an update yesterday ;-).

Second off, surprise! Since this is a Holiday Weekend for everyone in the states, I figured it was a good time to release this month's monthly extra. I had it written already and it just needed an editing pass, which I managed to pry the time free for yesterday, despite family stuff. Now, for some important basic info for this story!

1) The Misfit System is a Cyberpunk 2077/Worm crossover, set pretty much entirely in Cyberpunk, with it being a Worm character (NOT Taylor) who crosses over.

2) I have not read Worm. My exposure to Worm is entirely from fanfiction. As such, my characterization of the crossover character reflects said character's (trying hard not to spoil who here) typical fanon depiction. I've been told by at least one person that she's considerably more of a bitch in Worm canon. I don't actually know if I believe that person, since they tend to have opinions on characters and will die bloodily on every hill that involves one of them. Just a fair warning that I have no idea how close she will be to her canon iteration.

3) The attached images are for the body the crossover character ends up arriving in. How and why they do so is explained in the story. Yes, the body is Eve from Stellar Blade. Making it technically a very minor additional crossover, but it's essentially irrelevant aside from knowing where they body came from.

Right! Beyond that, I'm going to let everyone explore this one without more information, as finding out the details is a big part of the intro to this story. Including a few twists that those familiar with Cyberpunk Lore might spot. I'll include some of those in author's notes in the comments!

The only other thing I will say this time is that I actually have a fairly strong muse for this particular idea. Which means, if it gets a positive enough response, it may get more development. Either as another 'Extra' for next month or possibly even an Author's Choice if response is sufficiently positive. If that positive response continued, its one that I could see adding to the poll options after testing the waters farther. Though it would take a strong, consistent response for that, since we only just got the poll down to four stories not long ago :-p.

Still, with me updating more often, having another poll option wouldn't be as bad as before. Doubly so since I'm expecting Displaced Hero to wrap up in under a year at this point. Though how much under I don't know. That's probably the closest current story to finishing, with Stripper With a System ironically being the next closest despite barely having gotten traction yet. The Mass Effect games' timespan is just that much shorter than something like One Piece or Harry Potter...

Anyway! I hope you enjoy this little experiment. Even if you're not a Worm fan, I encourage you to give it a try, as the only crossover element is the inserted character. Much like with Izuku in Displaced Hero.
