Right. With that out of the way, time for your regularly scheduled release of Can One Displaced Hero Save the Galaxy?! The new chapters came out pretty well, I think, even if they didn't cover quite as much time span as I'd originally intended. Covering the Dark Reaper Crisis is slowing things down more than expected, but I think it's proving a decent way to break up the fleet battles and exposition stuff as well. Certainly, the people who have been wanting to see more Anakin engagement should be pleased, as he's actually interacting with Aayla at least for a bit :-). Meanwhile, Izuku gets to really stretch his Battle Meditation beyond what he's done so far, making an impact of his own as CIS South takes a heavy hit.

As always the new chapters are attached to this post! As this is only the first update for the story this month, the Master Files will not be updated until later. So, for now, this is the only place to get the new stuff! Author's notes will follow in the comments when I have time :-). Enjoy more of Can One Displaced Hero Save the Galaxy?!

Chapter 159: A/N 1: So...just so you're aware...the Dark Reaper crisis is from an early 2000s video game which mostly had you fighting in vehicles. There wasn't a whole lot to work with, but I dug into the lore as much as the lore exists, and filled in the rest as needed. A/N 2: I considered using an entirely different sort of ambush for them, but realized with having already used the Ysalamiri once, it made more sense to think Dooku and Palaptine wouldn't use them JUST once. So they appeared here as well, as part of the trap. A/N 3: In addition to wanting to get Aayla back to her roots, as it were, I took this as a chance to show just how different Anakin has become. He's much more mature and considerably more capable in many ways. Less one dimensional than he was in canon. His willingness to put aside the idea of more power because he understands he might not be ready yet is, I think, a particularly critical development for him.

Chapter 160: A/N 1: So, some people on various platforms have complained about Izuku's Battle Meditation being limited compared to Bastila Shan or Palpatine. In part, that was simple experience. However, in part it was also as revealed in this chapter. Neither Bastila or Palpatine ever COMMANDED battles. They coordinated battles that someone else was commanding. The split of attention caused by being both fleet commander AND using Battle Meditation degraded Izuku's overall ability with it quite a bit. A/N 2: So, even as the Republic reels from the blow of the Dark Reaper, the League has managed to put CIS South on the back foot. Unfortunately, while useful, the League lacks the ground troop strength to forcefully occupy very many worlds...

fun chapter(s). it's nice to finally see battle meditation fully working, the way i've seen it described in official media. and sith superweapons are goona superweapon, thats just the name of the. but now for more commando action to disable the stupid thing. i really enjoy that this Anakin has managed to attain a measure of wisdom. it definitely helps that palpatine isn't constantly dripping poison into his ear, letting him grow up a bit more naturally.

Good to see the development in Anakin. I guess a more stable time during his Padawan days as well as Shmi being alive and well did him a world of good. Absolutely love the way Zavra has influenced Aayla here. Zavra might just be my favourite character in one of your fics. And considering how much I loved the version of Momo in my hero automata that is saying a lot. And Celeste being put out over not being able to take down some Sith Acolytes is just great. Would love for her to be conpensated by getting to take down one of the big shots. Either Dooku or even Palpatine. Seeing Izuku fully cut loose with Battle Meditation. I did think it was odd at times that he was in command as well as doing battle meditation. But I chalked it down to the Leagues lack of high level officers at the time.

Agree here. Kind of felt nerfed. I mean, Bastila curb stomped REVAN'S fleet in expanded canon. Even with Force using enemies, I always thought it should work better.

Anakin also benefited from the reality check of Palaptine being outted and some time away from Obi-wan for the last stretch of his Padawanhood. He found a lot of acceptance with the team that worked on the Blade design with him, for example. One of the many problems he had in canon was being to isolated from the rest of the Jedi, and that got fixed somewhat in various ways. Honestly, I have no idea where exactly I got the particular crazy juice I put into Zavra, but she's always super fun to write, so hopefully I can find more of it someday :-p. The lack of high-level officers was exactly the problem. Battle Meditation plus skill downloads let Izuku fake being a really good fleet commander. Which put him in the top tier of who the League had access to, if they needed a serious battle own. Doubly so if the odds weren't great.

Part of the problem is that we mostly see Prodigy level Battle Meditation users in the handful of real descriptions we have of it. I tried to depict a learning curve for Izuku, with him steadily increasing how much he could handle, then finally having this breakthrough where he's able to fully immerse in it without having to be in command.

A thought occurs; what if the CIS made a variant of Magna-droids with tiny terrariums to CONTAIN the Ysalamiri so that they could just be as deadly on their own, instead of needing a team of them to take down the average Jedi?
