Time for another release!

This time, Halfway Broken is on the agenda...and Vivi finally gets herself a piece of Luffy ;-).

Of course, that's not the only thing in the update, as the hints I've dropped in comments about exactly how the new Straw Hat Fleet will arrive in the New World comes to fruition! Honestly kinda looking forward to people's reactions to that, as a lot of you seem to have forgotten how often I tell canon to take a flying leap off a bridge, then burn the bridge down afterward :-p. Anyway, not much more to say that wouldn't be a massive spoiler, so...

As usual, the new bits of story are attached to this post in various formats. As this is the last update of Halfway Broken for October, I will also be updating the Master Files in the Pinned Post as well. Likewise as usual, I will be making some author's notes in the comment section, once I have a few minutes. Enjoy more of One Piece: Halfway Broken, folks!

Chapter 143: A/N 1: As you might have guessed, the black and white image in the post is a depiction of the real Flying Cloud. Likely looks weird to One Piece fans, huh? The show does NOT realistically show sails vs hull volume in any ship in the series. Sailing ships through up a metric fuck ton of sail canvas! One Piece is HIGHLY stylizedwhich is also why I included something a bit more stylized as well :-p. A/N 2: Vivi finally joins the harem in full! I sort of lampshaded the whole 'waiting until she was 18 thing,' and also gave her a more wordy lemon than usual because of the long wait. Hopefully I did a decent job of making her first time a bit special :-). They can get up to kinky shennigans with the others later... A/N 3: Something I mentioned waaaaaaaayyyy near the start of the fic, in an AN, is that the canon crew of the Thousand Sunny is HILARIOUSLY inadequate for a ship her size. It was part of why I both extended the crew size for the story, and set the Discovery up to be very low intensity crew demand as well, even before 'Dis' woke up. For a Clipper Ship, a couple dozen crew is actually on the light end, but Luffy built to accommodate that. A/N 4: Yes, Jean Bat got stolen from Law's crew. The Human Auction House event didn't go down the way it did in canon, which means Law didn't free him and take him into his crew. As such he served as a good 'named' character to help flesh out Reiju's crew.

Chapter 144: A/N 1: MAWHAHAHAHAHA. The people who thought they were doing to do something NORMAL, like go through Fishman Island...I was soooo trying not to say anything. No, they are not trying to make a big splash, so finally showing off one of the hole cards and giving the WG an ulcer as they realize that someone on one of the crews has access to Shiki's Devil Fruit? Much better for what they want. A/N 2: I'm sure someone is going to wonder why Imu or the Elder's didn't attack. I thought that through very carefully (as did Luffy) and decided that, caught by complete surprise like this, they wouldn't have risked it. With Luffy/Yamato already having perma-killed an Elder once, fighting them when they are right on top of you unexpectedly, with a lot of powerful backup, while you don't have most of your best pieces to play? No, I decided they wouldn't try it. Not so long as Luffy didn't ACTUALLY attack the Holy Land. At the same time, razing Red Port is going to be something that stings like a bitch for the Marines and WG alike. A/N 3: The fact he got to mess with Law at the same time was just a smmmmaaallll bonus ;-).

I have now finished reading and I must say that this was indeed wonderful as always....... So obliterating red port is one thing but as far as I remember there is a similar port on the new world side of the redline I would think that that one should be obliterated as well ....... Also do Ace and his group have kinemo and the pink dragon boy(forgot his name) with them having taken out punkhazard...... Also I don't know if anyone has mentioned it yet or not can dis built a small fruit garden for devil fruit to reimbody themselves especially if she is near the big fights were devil fruit users die .....

Vivi finally joins in properly. Shes been teased long enough. And yeah thats a hell of an entrance into the new world. And smashing up some of Kaidos subordinates right after will certainly help cement that reputation. As well as the fact this might just Skyrocket their bounties to an acceptable level for a Yonkos crew.

Unfortunately, there is a Marine Base extremely close to the one on the New World side. (Marineford used to be the same on the Red Port side, but Whitebeard totaled it). So it wasn't worth the risk for them to engage that one as well, which might have both gotten a reaction from that base AND the forces at the Holy Land. They were very much pulling a hit and run to lower the odds of a serious fight that might not actually favor them. Nope. It hasn't been twenty years yet. Luffy and Co are six months early entering the New World. There is a garden aboard the Discovery, but most big fights happen close to an island, so there are a lot of fruits for the Devil Fruit to choose from. That said, they might well have used Luffy's locator to round up some after the Amazon Lily battle...

Yeah, I was sticking to my guns on waiting for her to hit 18, just not to cause complications with there being adult content for the character :-). Oh yeah, their bounties are going to jump for the stunt they just pulled alone, let alone what else they are planning :-p.

Glad you enjoyed it :-). The Harem is, frankly, already larger then I intended with the inclusion of Boa. Any more and it will just flat out be too unwieldly. It's honestly already bordering on me not being able to give the various girls in it fair 'screen time' as is.

I don't really want to, as we don't know a lot about their personalities. But given where they hit...eh...Kong might be enough of a mouthpiece. We'll see how it goes.

That's an excellent point. I can imagine him being sour about the people he couldn't mobilize to Amazon Lily because they were stationed at red port, only to learn Luffy leveled the place.

They would have warning of an attack now, minutes to prepare and get reinforcements. Also there is no way the gorossei and gods knights don’t descend and defend the last port that supplies the holy land.

Red port was a higher priority target. If enies lobby is attacked the red port would have been fortified for weeks just as a precautionary method. With the crew in the new world enies lobby will be as undefended as before as asserts are redistributed to the new world to combat the threat of the straw hats and a potential war between pirates.

A shame Hancock couldn’t unleash justifiable violence on the inbred dragons while they were there. Luffy might have been fast enough to take them out and retreat but I think I get the logic of it. Two islands where targeted by the Marines so the marines have to lose to islands. Retaliation. Killing celestial dragons might instead count as escalation, and cause an early mobilization of forces. As it is the government knows the crew might harm celestial dragons, but they haven’t actually done so yet. They are aware that it was kizaru who killed them. Targeting the red port first before enies lobby was a good strategic choice, well done. I think it’s time for new bounties.

Giving that Imu himself hangs out in the Holy Land, seemingly unable to leave without rapidly dying, trying to raze it likely would have turned...ugly. Of course, he doesn't know about Imu, but he DOES know how strong the elder her killed was, and didn't really want to risk fighting four more of those + the God's Knights all at once. Yes, their bounties will be going up from what they did :-).

Ah. Luffy doesn't really care about nailing them enough to go down and risk trying to fight through an unknown Vice Admiral. Even the Celestial Twats that already died were really killed more by the Elder than Luffy and Co, as it was the combined aura of too many Conqueror's Haki users clashing that effectively gave them all heart attacks. He's not against killing them, but isn't going to go out of his way for it. Hancock might have, but wasn't in overall charge of the planning.

That's always a bit of a struggle to balance :-). I could have extended the lemon more, but it would have made it the dominant content of this release, by far. Since I try to keep the story Plot first, Smut a distant second, I have to balance how much focus I give them. At some point, I really need to use one of the Monthly Extras to do an extra set of side-content lemons for both Halfway Broken and Displaced Hero...

Triply so as he'd broken into the old archives from prior to the Void Century and dusted off some knowledge of combat systems and techniques he was pretty sure the WG had no idea Alabasta retrained. If those idiots thought that one of the founding twenty, the only one who hadn't given up rule of their people to go live with fucking fishbowls over their heads, didn't remember a few dangerous things? Ah. I see where the confusion came from. See the last line: "Even if he was pretty sure none of them were quite up to what he’d seen the Strawhat crew demonstrate." As well as: "primitive version of the Marines 'secret' Rokushiki" What they found was an early, incomplete version of what the Marines eventually developed. Technically, the 'six powers' are a training method for a seventh (Rokuogan). What Cobra found was a version of the training that used nine steps instead of six. At least...I'm FAIRLY certain that's what I intended. That was also a loooott of chapters and word count ago. My notes do specifically mention that the Alabasta version was missing the Shigan. Hence me saying that there were only five they could use out of the six. I might, assuming their fighters are eventually seen in direct combat snippets, invent a couple of techniques for those additional 'steps.' So far none of them have been seen in direct combat other than Vivi, who uses the six powers version due to being trained mostly by Luffy and Hina in them.
