Creates a treasure map system with an image and description, and supports common features among CGMZ plugins such as discovering maps.
! SEE BOTTOM OF POST FOR UPDATES !
Hi all,
This plugin creates a treasure map system which can include a map image and a description, and can even have multiple different images for each "stage" of the treasure map. Once completed (the treasure is found), a timestamp is recorded and the window will display the time that the treasure map was completed.
This was quite a simple plugin back in VX Ace and it is still somewhat simple in MZ, though now there are a lot more customizations and options in the plugin. The display window uses my new method for allowing complete customization of what is shown and in which order, as you could drag and drop the Description above the Image, or remove the description all together by deleting it in the plugin parameters. This new way of allowing complete control over display windows will be coming to other CGMZ plugins in the future as well.
As always, if you have any other suggestions or feature requests, leave a comment below or in the #suggestions channel in my discord.
Happy RPG Making!
Beta Update Feb 6, 2023: This plugin is now in beta! This plugin has had more customization options added to the Discover and Completion toasts, including allowing use of some new toast options such as using a custom windowskin tone.
This update has added an icon property to treasure maps, which will display next to their name in the list and display windows, and optionally in toast windows. Speaking of toasts, there is now a toast window for when a map's stage gets updated. Toast windows were also converted to use the new CGMZ Core Toast setup function, which means the option to choose a different windowskin was added to toast window settings, but it also means you will need to re-set up your toast parameters.
This update also adds a bunch of other small features that have become standard across my other plugins: You can now change each window's windowskin, you can change the header line gradient colors, you can have the list window on the right side of the screen, and you can use up the Touch UI space if Touch UI is disabled. See below for some of the new features in action:
Along with new features, some bugs were fixed. The map names will now reset text color automatically in case a previous map name in the list window had a text color, preventing text color from bleeding into other map names. The display window will also no longer slightly scroll with the list window. This plugin will also now warn in the dev tools console instead of crashing when invalid JSON in a parameter is detected. These warnings are still important for you to fix, as the parameter with invalid JSON will not work properly until fixed.
This update adds toast options that can be unique to each treasure map. Previously, your toast settings would affect every treasure map. Of course, you can still use the old parameters as a fallback in case you don't want to set up a toast for each treasure map.
This update also adds padding, back opacity, and tone parameters for each window. The description parameter was changed to a multiline string type, so you may need to edit your description parameters as there may be quotation marks surrounding old description parameters now.
This update adds quite a lot of smaller features. You can now have additional control over the header displays in your display window. You can also prevent selecting the map display window from the map list window. Integrations with [CGMZ] Scene Backgrounds and [CGMZ] Controls Window were both added.
This update also fixes some bugs. A bug with treasure map images not being found on android deploys was fixed, and a bug with non-standard display window padding causing the window scroll to be slightly incorrect was also fixed.
This plugin is no longer required to be placed after [CGMZ] Toast Manager. The parameter type of the list window width was converted from a decimal to a whole number. It still represents the percentage of the screen width to use.
This version refines the display window a bit more. You can now display blank lines and custom space, to allow for better space control in your treasure map displays.
The list window now supports both new and updated marker text. This is text that displays when the map is new or updated, with new being higher priority over updated text if both are true. Below is an image preview of how it can look:
The Allow Select Map parameter has been removed, as the user can now always scroll the treasure map display window without needing to select the map.
This version adds more integrations with other [CGMZ] plugins. You can now set a window background image via [CGMZ] Window Backgrounds, including animated scrolling parallax images. You can also now control more window options through an integration with [CGMZ] Window Settings, such as window margin.
The [CGMZ] Toast Manager integration has been switched to the preset id system. This provides your treasure map toasts with all of the options available to toasts, though it currently only works with text toast types. You can create a toast preset for each map specifically, or if not set it will fall back to the global toast preset for all treasure maps. The text code has been shortened, you can now use %name and %icon in your toast text lines instead of %cgmztmapname and %cgmztmapicon.
This update also adds a completed name / icon property, which will be used in the treasure map scene if the map is completed. If not provided, the map name and icon will use the standard name and icon. This is not used in toasts (including completed toast) as I thought it would be confusing to see a different name / icon there.
This version adds some more display options, including the requested Danger Level and Location flavor items. These have accompanying label text parameters, and can be set to anything, so you can type in a general location, a specific location, or anything really (and same for the danger level). The labels for this plugin now also support the automatic space from [CGMZ] Core, which previously was just the Timestamp but now includes these new flavor line items too.
This update also adds the ability to show undiscovered treasure maps in the scene. This added many new parameters for fallback undiscovered name, icon, and description, as well as map-specific undiscovered parameters. I also decided to add a separate completed description, so your maps can show a different description after completed. The option to show undiscovered maps is an option on the Call Scene plugin command.
This update also added an integration with [CGMZ] Rumble, so you can now provide haptic feedback to your gamepad players whenever a map is updated, discovered, or completed.
