RLS Career Overhaul | v2.7.1.3
Hey everyone!
This update brings a substantial refresh to the career menus, more controller support, a rework of car meet reputation, and another round of fixes for employment, hauling, recovery, and vehicle maintenance.
We’ve spent a lot of this week on the screens you use between drives. Buying a vehicle, managing parts, checking insurance, collecting wages, and running a business should all be easier to follow.
There’s plenty underneath those menus, too. Trucks now age against their own expected lifespan, loaded rigs recover more reliably, and car hauling has more work available on West Coast.
Career Menus and Controller Support
Refreshed the garage computer, vehicle inventory, parts shopping, tuning, maintenance, repair, painting, and refueling screens.
Updated vehicle shopping with clearer filters, sorting, listing cards, and vehicle details.
Refreshed insurance policies, loans and mortgages, your driver abstract, and career profile screens.
Updated business computers, workshop menus, supply pickups, and management dashboards.
Refreshed activity selection, delivery prompts, reward screens, and the Free Roam Event HUD.
Expanded controller navigation across vehicle shopping, inventory, insurance, businesses, auctions, property purchases, map travel, and other career screens.
Improved controller focus, scrolling, sliders, confirmation dialogs, and Back navigation.
Car meet offers now support holding the controller confirmation button to accept.
Added Back and Close options while material pickup and roadside service screens are loading.
Improved currency and unit formatting across purchase summaries, business inventory, profiles, and other career menus.
Employment and Deliveries
Added quick travel to your current employer.
Hiring requirements now account for the actual parcel sizes and unlocks used by that company, along with whether its vehicles can carry the work.
Added support for company jobs that collect parcels, vehicles, and trailers from customers, including shorter local routes on supported maps.
Customer collections now stay with the correct employer instead of picking up another company’s work.
Improved the transition between assignment types when selecting your next job.
Fixed loading waits carrying over into the next assignment.
Improved task instructions when a vehicle switches from pickup to delivery.
Fixed delivery summaries appearing before the return load was ready.
Added parking ratings to the employment delivery summary.
Fixed delivery prompts opening when the trailer was in the delivery space but the cab was still outside it.
Restored interaction with delivery markers while a trailer is attached.
Clearing a blocked return pickup space now lets you collect the equipment deliberately, rather than spawning it immediately.
Company vehicles now receive traffic fines during employment.
Fixed cargo loading errors when a previously selected vehicle had been removed or replaced.
Fixed errors when cancelling an active job.
Job Broker and Independent Hauling
Doubled the number of independent car hauling contracts generated at Fink Industries on West Coast.
Expanded support for car hauling routes configured by career maps, including logistics yards that offer several kinds of work.
Car hauling now respects the vehicle types allowed by the route and receiving dealership.
Fixed contract boards failing to replenish work at individual providers.
Improved retrying a vehicle pickup after an offer failed or expired, including after reloading your save.
Fixed broker delivery summaries showing an incomplete total when several vehicles were delivered together.
Restored facility inspection prompts during independent work.
Fixed the map key opening the Job Broker app while in delivery mode.
Refreshed material pickup, cargo delivery, and equipment rental screens with clearer prices, quantities, and confirmation prompts.
Recovery and Towing
Tow to Road now preserves the positions of vehicles loaded on your truck or trailer.
Improved road placement for complete rigs, with more reliable checks that there is room for the truck, trailers, and their loads.
Optimized the road search to reduce pauses during recovery.
Fixed towing a damaged truck and trailer to a garage accidentally repairing them. Their existing damage is now preserved.
Recovered trailer information is retained until disconnection has been confirmed.
Trailers already involved in recovery work are protected from unintended towing.
Improved placement checks after moving a rig, helping prevent recovery into unsuitable or obstructed road positions.
Vehicle Shopping, Parts, and Painting
Eligible vehicle configurations with a population value of zero can now appear in career stock. This helps mods that use zero population to keep their vehicles out of traffic.
Restored full vehicle previews in marketplace listings.
Improved shopping filters, vehicle detail pages, listing actions, and negotiation controls.
Fixed handling of empty marketplace results and listings that were not displaying correctly.
Parts shopping now skips unavailable stored parts instead of allowing missing inventory entries to disrupt the menu.
Improved parts purchase and sale feedback, including clearer labels and shopping cart layouts.
Painting prices shown in the cart now match the amount charged.
Improved paint controls and fixed saving and closing the painting screen.
Your available funds now refresh before the license plate purchase prompt.
Fixed property asking prices changing unexpectedly after the displayed listing price had been shown.
Maintenance and the OBD Scanner
Heavier vehicles now age against their own expected lifespan. Light trucks, medium trucks, and heavy trucks are no longer treated like passenger cars at the same mileage.
The OBD Scanner’s mileage wear display now follows that same lifespan calculation, while still showing the vehicle’s real odometer.
Engine stress is now measured against the engine’s own torque rating where one is available.
Stock heavy truck engines should no longer receive high output warnings simply because they make more power than a passenger car.
Corrected drivetrain wear being increased while an engine was idling without load.
Extreme output oil consumption now takes the engine’s torque rating into account. Stock engines built to handle their output are no longer treated like heavily overstressed drag builds.
Service estimates now use recent driving history rather than jumping around with every throttle input.
Improved engine and part names in the scanner.
Corrected maintenance categories for engine covers, body and cabin parts, wheel data, transfer cases, ATV brakes, and some electric vehicle components.
Refreshed the maintenance menu to make condition and service information easier to read.
Tires
Rebalanced tread wear for cruising, sliding, drifting, and burnouts.
Reduced overall wear rates to give tires a more reasonable service life.
Larger tires now take longer to heat up, addressing excessive temperature increases on loaded trucks.
Restored friction heating independently of tread wear, so reducing wear does not also remove the heat generated by wheelspin and sliding.
Dyno and Engine Packages
Improved dyno load control across different drive modes for a more consistent pull.
Paid dyno runs are now retained when the measurement finishes with warnings or is interrupted. The result keeps the recorded data and explains the problem.
Fixed the dyno guide’s Don’t show again setting.
Removed duplicate hub dyno parts and added compatibility for older saved configurations, preserving tuning and axle brake choices.
Added detailed engine package views showing the parts inside, their condition, mileage, value, and any missing components.
Improved Back navigation between engine packages, retail listings, and supply screens.
Car Meets and Clubs
Car meet reputation now uses one shared score from 0 to 100, bringing the previous reputation systems together.
Reputation unlocks more meet types and clubs, and can increase the value of vehicles you have taken to meets by up to 15%.
Existing car meet progress is carried into the revised system.
Reworked the Clubs tab with clearer membership requirements and standing information.
Invitations now appear as expandable cards in the Mail tab.
Vehicle history now focuses on vehicles you have actually used at car meets.
Fixed attendance reputation and history being credited to different vehicles.
Low offers do not cost reputation. The seller can still counter or refuse.
Missing club meets affects your standing with that club rather than your overall reputation.
Updated the in game guide to explain meet requirements, reputation, club standing, buying, and selling more accurately.
Businesses and Engine Works
Refreshed business dashboards, inventory views, workshop controls, and management dialogs.
Improved controller navigation through business computers and their purchase, assignment, and upgrade dialogs.
Engine retail and business parts now use consistent condition based valuations, with retail markup handled separately.
Improved price displays and payment feedback for business supplies and workshop purchases.
Added clearer details when reviewing engine packages before buying or managing them.
Taxi, Recovery, Ambulance, and Police Work
Corrected pay multipliers across taxi, repossession, ambulance, recovery, and material hauling work.
Fixed passenger job multipliers not being applied correctly.
Ambulance messages now clearly explain when earnings have been added to your shift wages and will be paid when you end the day.
Corrected vehicle colour descriptions in police BOLO information.
Police issued vehicles no longer receive the ordinary damaged loaner reputation penalty when returned after pursuit work.
Improved equipment accident reporting prompts.
Fixed police reputation being awarded to the wrong organization on supported expansion maps.
Saving and Garage Management
Autosave intervals are available in Overhaul Manager: 5, 10, 15, 30, or 60 minutes.
Automatic saves now wait until you are stopped, rather than beginning while you are still creeping forward.
Added clearer saving, completion, and failure notifications.
Vehicle, garage, and business purchases now trigger explicit saves.
Fixed maintenance updates after saving resetting throttle, brake, and clutch inputs.
Improved saving of the starter garage when creating a new career.
Your current garage now appears at the top of My Vehicles.
Vehicles visiting another garage still count toward the capacity of their assigned garage.
West Coast and Other Fixes
Added more decoration around West Coast Engine Works and Dino Cafe, including workshop equipment, clutter, and surrounding details.
Fixed the phone tutorial timing out during the first career load.
Fixed an error in the beta welcome screen.
Improved career loading screens and assignment transitions.
Updated skill icons, level up notifications, activity prompts, and other smaller interface details.
Thanks for supporting the work and helping us find the awkward parts of career mode. There’s a lot to try in this update, so let us know how the refreshed menus feel, especially if you play with a controller.
