I think the issue Paul had with TJ wasn't that he interrupted him during a thought, rather it was a thought that was important to him. It's one thing to interrupt, it's another thing to interrupt when somebody sharing something that's important to them.

I think a Blood Meridian movie could work if someone had the balls to abandon coherence and make something deliberately disjointed, horrifying and atmospheric. Like something along the lines of Skinamarink. Just fully leans into dread, abstraction and vibes over story. For casting I think Ethan Suplee could pull off Judge Holden.

To be fair it can be hard to tell if Paul actually has a point or if he's just being pssimistic. It all sounds the same in the beginning. He starts so many of his ideas with "our culture is deteriorating into crap" that it isn't really indicative of anything more thoughtful in and of itself.

I expected far superior films in the discussion of the best movies of all time. So the film buff in me was a little irked, but the episode was brilliantly entertaining.

The resolution to Vince Vaughn’s character in 2nd season of True Detective I believe was extremely compelling and effective. I recommend seeing it through.
