Most of my immediate family moved from upstate NY to south Carolina for a cheaper lifestyle. My ass is staying here and I still get "when are you moving down?" I live and love where I live in rural New York, regardless of how expensive it is, also i live in a very conservative area of NY. Ny takes a lot of federal money but we are absolutely a surplus state and do subsidize states that do not produce/ take care of their citizens.

Honestly, they can attract PMCs not hard to do but they are not a stand in for armies. They only subsist on mostly security detail and maybe the occasionally black op but not too specialized even in this aspect. The economy could be better but they would need to enrich the companies but the population has already been exploited heavily. With larger populations of companies increases natural resources destruction with which they have also less of compared to larger states, they need their farm land and mass company excursion wod help destroy it. More, tax reductions still won't increase the tax base even if it attracts companies, the companies still won't want to pay large wages, which is why most companies move manufacturing their anyhow, but itnwould still defunct into the South needing money.

Ok, maybe if they vote to separate and the federal government goes along with it and just lets Cali break away. Those are some big ifs. Besides, a lot of people in the military stationed there aren't even going to be from there. They move you around like crazy in the military, especially officers. My dad was from Nebraska and his whole family lived there, but he spent all of his time in the military at Fort Knox in KY or Fort Polk in LA.

You also severely overestimate the number of loyalists. Most of these guys are probably going to go Awol because they're only there for the money. Anyone that would really be willing to fight the west wouldn't be able to mobilize because these bases are probably going to be in total chaos. You severely overestimate our militaries capabilities. We have the most advanced military on paper and about a handful of people that actually know how to use the advanced technologies at our disposal. The Super Powers have made themselves paper tigers. On a lot of these bases Generals will prioritize upkeep on the golf course over that of the base itself.

I dunno if anyone has said this yet but when they were doing the tarot reading, TJ literally pulled his own life. His past was filled with material wealth, after his dad's death (which isn't present but) he went through a period of gaining wisdom; growing his channel, starting DP, learning the ins and out of podcasting and then using that knowledge to start DFF. Finally, he's in a period of settling down; he got married, learning how to accommodate his new wife, found a second partner and learning how to balance a polycule, and codifying the podcast with his crew.

I'm a Dutchy. I live in the Netherlands, so the Brits are basically our neighbors... I talk to a British guy, online, almost daily, as we have some shared interests, but when he talks about his food and how it's 'pretty good' and I should 'give it a try some time.' I just... I just can't even reason with him!! I do my OWN cooking!! I don't like pre-cooked/microwave dinners! I don't like most of those 'convenient' things, like canned, or bagged soup. Those things, even from big name brands, often have ZERO flavor and whenever I somehow end up getting those things (like for Christmas, when we get a package from the foodbanks and they have all sorts of foods and often also some detergent and soap and such), I have to add all sorts of things to make it edible!! And almost EVERY DAY, he combines all his food with fries (or 'chips' as they call them). Also a nearly daily recurrence, is peas, or sweetcorn, sometimes broccoli. Ah, and let's not forget, baked beans on toast! ..... He even links the foods he bought, quite often, to show me the original price, so he can tell me that he got it for a a few pence, which is nice, especially if the original product is 5 pounds, or more, but then, looking at the reviews... Even the reviews almost always rate it as barely passable (so 5/10 or LOWER!!). Oh well... I'm glad I learned how to cook and my mom had parents with their own vegetable garden and also knew what proper food was. Heck, even the girlfriend I had, when I was 15, was AMAZED at the taste of our food, because her mom just tossed everything in a pan, heated it up and, there, that's it. Food. What? You want salt on your potatoes?! Why? That might make them taste better!! Why would you do that?!?! It's funny how some of our cooking even rubbed off on her mom though and she actually uses herbs and spices now too. XD
