I know a little bit about this backrooms buzz. It didn't start with a game. It started as a series of eerie YouTube videos and all of these Zoomies were like. "This is better than anything out of Hollywood" While I'll admit the videos were interesting the movie wasn't really anything like the videos from the trailers I saw.

The reason you're getting so much push back on this Back Rooms thing is because so many of these Zoomies talked this guy up when he made his first videos about it and now they're invested in the idea of this idea being successful so they can't admit to themselves that it missed the mark. It's a combination of buyer's remorse and sunk cost fallacy. This is more them trying to convince themselves than you guys.

I think the horror of the backrooms movie is that the main character allowed the backrooms to consume him because it gave him permission to remain complacent. But since Paul left an hour in I don’t think he woulda caught that.
