To be honest, ridiculous title aside, Lvl 9999 gacha etc etc is surprisingly solid, having read ahead in the manga, I actually ended up getting into it. The world building is surprisingly decent, the characters are all pretty likeable and get decently fleshed out (relatively speaking) plus they all get plenty of time to shine without the MC doing everything himself. Going back to the world building, there's even an explanation given for why the dungeons exist, it isn't much of an explanation, but it exists. Also the revenge bits are well done, but that's just my subjective opinion as someone who loves movies like John Wick, Taken, etc.

A Wild Last Boss Appeared is so much better than it has any right to be as an adaptation. This sort of show usually gets the barely-animated slop treatment, so I was pleasantly surprised at how good it actually is. Hopefully it gets more seasons, because the books eventually devolve into DBZ-esque power-measuring competitions that are a slog to read, but would be FANTASTIC to see animated.

I've got several of the light novels and I got a little tired of the formula of "OMG this guy is the most powerful ever, how will we beat him" framing of the antagonist of the book, only for the fight to be "ROFLMAO, my level is so much higher this guy isn't even a challenge" two-page wrap-up. Especially since they know at the start of each book that the protag is thousands of levels higher than anyone else in the world that they know of.

I pretty much did the exact same thing, I started watching the show and then started the manga. It's actually pretty good with pretty solid characters and world building.

The "Mom's a Spirit, Dad's a Hero..." manga and anime are both even extra guilty of just completely forgetting what the main character's power set even is like 3 chapters in, to the point that she goes from conjuring diamond from CO2 as a party trick to just casually inventing a "cure everything pill" in like 3 manga chapters, and forgets that she can even do magic at all like 5 chapters after that. Why would you bother stabbing someone when you can just snap your fingers and convert all of the salt in their body back into Sodium and Chlorine gas? Or the calcium in their bones back into metal? Or the iron in their blood into metal? Or one of the surely million other unpleasant ways of chemistry related death?

Because Aronofsky directly stole scenes and plot points from Perfect Blue for Requiem for a Dream and Black Swan. Like, 1:1 lifted and done without a shred of original artistic thought or integrity.

I agree with you on that one because any time he tries to make an original project without Kon, it always feels like a terrible thing to watch. I would put it on a worst of list when he try to be original. Fck heck. Anyway one day you need to make a video about Satoshi Kon video and why he was the greatest creator of all time.

I just could not get past that speed dating thing that took up more than an episode to finish Dusk Beyond the End of the World. The first episode was amazing, and then my interest took a nose dive after that.
