Episode 10 Update - 2/20/20 (Patreon)
Content
Hi all-
So - This week, I've continued to work on the characters and script. 9/12 of the character rigs are now complete. The really complicated one I'd mentioned earlier is probably going to take a lot more time. It is a character that's fused with the scenery of the set. I'll most likely have to finish that one while I'm working on the set. But I've made a lot of progress on it. Though showing it now would reveal plot spoilers, which I'm desperately going to try to avoid for the time being. So that leaves two characters to finish off this week and getting a head start on the set modeling.
The script has improved greatly in condition this week. I've now nailed down all the side characters, so I can finish modeling them confidently. This episode consists of three acts, each with 2-3 scenes. Act 1 is pretty solid as is. I'm currently struggling with Act2, Scene 2 and Act 3, Scene 2 (the ending). Once I can solidify the ending, I have a feeling everything else will fall into place. Trying to weave together all the themes and plot events while still keeping the characters true to themselves has proved challenging, but this month has, thus far, seen leaps and bounds in progress.
Another reminder: In March, I'll be switching the Patreon to monthly. If you haven't already, I'd switch your pledge amount to what you're comfortable paying per month. The new pledge tiers are most likely going to be:
$1/month - Access to update posts
$6/month - Name in credits/Sprite/Behind-the-scenes posts access
Top Donors - "The Very Best" Credit/Signed, personalized script
I'm still figuring it out, though. I want to try to keep the pledge tiers fair while still maintaining a budget for the episode. Hiring out more animators for this one would be great, because there is a lot to handle, and these are getting uncomfortably long. Let me know if you have any suggestions.
Thank you for your time. I appreciate you vastly.
