Episode 10 Update - 10/11/20 (Patreon)

Hey all - I'm back in at my office and just had my first full week.  I'm more or less on track again and feel pretty good about moving forward.

I've been corresponding at length with the storyboard artist for the action scene in Fb.  We've been going back and forth about what we want to accomplish with the scene, and we're making ample progress, but it's not done yet.  Previously, I had decided on going ahead with animating Fc and Fd while Fb is being boarded, but it's now become clear that we're going to need to at least get the full outline of Fb done first, as elements of it are going to bleed over into the ending.

In the meantime, I've been and will be focusing exclusively on animating "C" and "A" this month.  "C" has actually gotten a great amount of progress in the past week, and I'll be passing it to the new animator as soon as it's ready.

Speaking of which, I've also recruited a new animator to the team.  He's really good at action stuff, but new to Blender, so I've taken a good amount of time this week to help him adjust to the software.  I feel really confident moving forward with him involved.  At this point, I'm hoping a lot of my slack can be picked up by other animators on "A" and "C" so I can move forward with the "F" scenes.  I still have a little more of "A" to prep before I can pass it on.

This episode has SO MUCH snow. It's absolutely begging to be released in Winter, which I believe I can commit to.  I'd love for a December release, but January looks far more likely at this point.  This is as a close to a "Christmas" sort of story as I'm ever going to get with this series in a really weird way, so I'm really gunning for somewhere around Christmas.

I suppose that's all for now.  I'm going to be back at the weekly updates now, and hopefully we'll get that good progress.  Thank you, as always, for your support.  Here are the current standings for "The Very Best" this month:
