I’m so glad you guys checking this out. Mr. and Mrs. O, meet Iman Vellani from Ontario. This is her first acting role ever. She first heard about the auditions through her aunt. Iman originally didn’t want to become an actress, but she decided to take a chance and audition since she grew up reading the Ms. Marvel comics. She said she would save up her allowance to buy them from a local shop. In fact, she cosplayed as Ms. Marvel for Halloween a few years ago. She even got her grandma to sew the signature lightning bolt to her costume. On her last day of senior year, she got a call from casting director Sarah Halley Finn saying she needed her in a video chat. Next thing Iman knew, she was talking with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige and the production crew for the show. Kevin himself said it was a unanimous decision. In episode 2, I love how Kamala starts her next day in school with more confidence. She’s finally settled some long overdue scores with everyone. Mr. Wilson is such a funny counselor. I wish I had someone this upbeat when I was in high school over a decade ago. As of now Pakistan doesn’t have Disney Plus yet, but they didn’t want anyone in Pakistan to miss out. So what they did was premiere two episodes per every two weeks in movie theaters. I first heard about the Partition of India in middle school. I don’t remember much, but I know for a fact that we also didn’t really learn much about it to begin with. Even Iman herself admitted that she didn’t know much about the Partition until she started doing her own research prior to filming. Also, Kingo is the Eternal who became an actor after Ajax let him and the others part ways. Little do Kamala and Kamran know that all of the Kingos are one and the same. And finally, this series has some tie-ins to the MCU Spider-Man films: 1.) The drones that Damage Control were using to track Kamala are the same ones they confiscated following the events of Far From Home. Looks like they repurposed them for their own agenda. 2.) Agent Cleary is the same agent who questioned Peter in No Way Home.

I like Ms Marvel you know. Quirky cute character in the series and in the comics. So i will enjoy rewatching this. And thanks for pushing out content guys at a reasonable pace. As a patron, I respect that

I'm not going to lie, I never liked Ms. Marvel (Kamala) in the comics and other media, so getting through this show was rough for me. I still liked the series and what it means for the MCU going forward. I'm sure you two will love this show as it's different to the other series, but has that Homecoming vibe.

You guys are on a roll this week, still got to finish ST, trying to keep up with you two...

Jakey

End of Watch is a good one

Jonny

And btw you do know the agency. Its the same one that interrogated Peter in No Way Home. Also her superhero name is Ms Marvel lol. Not Cosmic Kamala or Night Light. Although Cosmic Kamala does sound cool.

TheOctobers

wow I knew they looked familiar! but couldn't remember that! thanks for that!

Jack Ross

I haven't rewatched this at all yet so im looking forward to experiencing it again with y'all. I remember really liking the show

They have changed Ms Marvel's powers a bit. In the comics she can stretch any part of her body just like Mr Fantastic from Fantastic 4. Her powers are now light based. Also in the comics she is an Inhuman like Black Bolt from Dr Strange MoM. Tho she's not an Inhuman in this show. I like how the story includes Pakistan and India's history. I didn't know they were one country before.

Adrian Rhodes

Um, have you guys never heard of DragonCon in Atlanta???

Emili

This show is so lighthearted and fun!! I love Kamala and Iman Velani is an absolute treasure to the MCU. She is a comic book nerd and mcu fan like we are!! Hope you guys enjoy this one <3

Hitmon

Same! I really couldn't get behind this show. Forced myself to watch in case it was important to the MCU or got better.

TheOctobers

so we have heard about it, but I thought it was Dragon lore, I never attended or anything lol now I would be interested in the Dragon lore tho!

Adrian Rhodes

Oh,DragonCon is dope AF! It's an annual convention covering everything cool and geeky from fantasy to sci-fi, comics, games, etc. It takes place every Labor Day Weekend. I'd HIGHLY recommend it! https://www.dragoncon.org/

Hard Parking Violations

I didn’t appreciate this show as much when originally watching it. But your reaction is my “re-watch” and I enjoy it more. Like all the MCU Disney+ shows it’s unique enough and fun. Not sure if someone else mentioned it because I’m too lazy to scroll and read but those detectives are the same from NoWayHome

TheOctobers

yes! we did not realize! but it's cool to see that connection!

The cool thing about this series is the actress that plays Kamala was actually doing Captain Marvel cosplay and YT videos in high school just like Kamala. She had never acted before and responded to an ad from Marvel looking for someone for the role.

This takes place in Jersey City, NJ.

The Kingo and Kingo Sr they are referencing is the Eternal who is a Bollywood actor.
