The Osiris information is a reference to one of the short animated films in “The Animatrix”. It’s really good. The kid that Neo freed who wants to help him is also from it.

So I'm sure people have said this so forgive me if it's been said but i'm lazy. When Neo was freed, Morpheus said "There was a man born in the matrix, it was he who freed the first of us." that was the previous One. Neo should have put his code into the source and selected the people to rebuild Zion, but he's the first that did not. Hence the movies timing, as this is the revolution.

So the whole architect thing confuses me aswell. I think since we are watching the 6th iteration this situation has like played out the other 5 times before. However I think the major difference on this iteration is trinity because the architect made a big point about her being somewhat of an anomaly. So all other iterations chose to go to the mainframe and destroy it and repopulate zion completing almost like a "computer loop" as intended. This neo however chose to go save trinity breaking the loop and the architects wishes. To me it seems like the prophecy is fake and like a design by the matrix to have the one be found and complete another loop. Since this neo broke the loop he is in like new territory that no one "the ones" have entered (because they all chose the first door) and they may be why he has powers in the real world now I don't know for sure, and I could be completely wrong. That's what I got from it and with yalls end discussion.

Relax, you are reacting the way most people do when they see these, and being confused is normal. Folks are still debating what it all means, there is no one specific answer. It is a series of movies that creates more questions than it answers, and you have to come to your own best guesses. I doubt anyone is judging you two, apart from yourselves, you are your own harshest critics. On another note, I just noticed that Superman 2 is no longer on your upcoming list. Is that an accidental omission?

I've never read up on The Matrix or watched a bunch of videos on it so this is all just my conclusions and theories after watching these films multiple times (with no spoilers for the 3rd film). Smith was starting to rebel in the first film, but he was still a slave to the system. When he died, he was free. He was supposed to go back to the source to be deleted or rewritten, but using his new found freedom, he rebelled and stayed inside the Matrix. Now he's no longer an Agent, working for the machines. He's basically a virus, working only for himself, spreading to every program he touches. As for the Matrix itself, the architect built the first, but it was a huge failure and they had to start over. It was the Oracle that came up with the "choice" program which was successful, but still not perfect because 1% of people choose to not be part of the system, those are the people of Zion. After awhile, the whole system has to be purged because that 1% grows and has to be wiped out so the machines purge everything and restart the matrix program again. The One is basically the code used to rewrite the matrix program. The One has to go to the mainframe and have his code extracted so the machines can restart everything. As a way to entice The One to do this, they allow a few people to survive and rebuild Zion. They keep repeating this because the machines still haven't found a way to get to 100% acceptance rate. Neo was the first The One to not accept that and not go to the mainframe. Now the humans are facing complete extinction. The machines can't restart the matrix without The One, so they plan to just destroy it instead. It will cost the machines a lot to do so, but as the architect said, there are sacrifices the machines are willing to live with. Basically meaning they're willing to survive on low power mode. That likely means all machines except for the mainframe itself will shut down in order to conserve power until it can find a new way to power itself.

Yep. Every cycle, the One restarts the Matrix and gets to choose the first people to go to Zion. It's never said what happens to The One after that. Does he go back to the source and get deleted or does he go to Zion with the others and die of old age/disease? I'm assuming he goes to the source so his code can be passed on to the next "One" when the time comes, in order to continue the cycle.

She is brought back in the real world because technically, the brain is not dead for several minutes after the heart stops and the brain is what is connected to The Matrix. And the only reason that she was dead was because what was in The Matrix was telling her that she was dead and therefore her brain stopped beating her heart in the real world, he told her brain "Uh, uh, you're gonna be beat'n that heart now cause I freaking said so." The world they are in, is not still in The Matrix. The power of the one extends to, the human world wirelessly. That is how he was able to feel and destroy the sentinels, because a part of him is still connected to the source. And therefore, any machine connected to the source, like the sentinels, can be manipulated by the one.

The first Matrix movie wasn’t based on a book or anything. It was an original concept. There were comic books called “The Matrix Comics” that were released from 1999-2003 that you can find in collected editions now.
