The 4th one is AWFUL. I suggest you watch it cause I mean it’s in the series but yeah. Really bad. The animated one is a collection of stories, it’s very good.

I'm for watching the 4th, it really does find an interesting twist that fits the end of this one. A lot of folks don't like the 4th, but I think you two would enjoy it.

I love all your guesses, but like GOT, the 4th one goes places you haven't imagined. They reached a detente in this one, a truce that never happened before, which was different from all the previous iterations of the Matrix. He was able to broker the peace because Neo created a renegade Smith program that wanted to crash everything, and he was the only one who could stop it. Because he was hardwired to the mainframe when he met Smith the last time, and when Smith assimilated him, he too was linked to the mainframe and it erased him and all his progeny. What happened after is explored in the 4th, thanks for committing to it.

I've watched this movie countless times, but I don't think I've watched it in almost 15 years. I do hope you watch the fourth one. It's very different so don't expect it to be like the trilogy, but if you watch it for its own merit, you might like it.

At the beginning when Neo is stuck in the subway station that represents being between the two worlds, it says “Mobil Ave” on the wall. Mobil is an anagram for Limbo.

Superb reaction guys. I never understood the hate for Matrix 2 and 3. I've always loved the entire trilogy. The 4th Matrix though is what happens when a studio tries to bring back an already complete franchise for a quick cash grab. That film is all kinds of ass.

They're just not as polished from a filmmaking perspective. If you're a sci-fi nerd then there are still great ideas in them but your average viewer will see them as corny low budget streaming movies. The first movie doesn't have that issue.
