Oh Mrs. O.....we knew it was coming and it sucked just like we knew it would. (Very well adapted to tv though) The entire episode I was thinking of you and what your soft kind heart would feel. Bless your little heart! Honestly, I've never wanted to reach through my screen and break a TV character's neck as bad as I did watching this episode. As soon as the episode started I kept saying, "I don't want to watch this! I don't think I can!" It really stressed me out! I actually avoided watching both of the season 2 episodes until yesterday. I couldn't avoid spoilers any longer. Great big hugs from me to you...this was a rough one. Love y'all! ❤️😢

I’m not gonna lie I’m one of the few who couldn’t care less about Abby. I understand if you do but I choose Joel over everyone. One of my favorite game characters of all time reduced to a moral lesson that we all already understand but we don’t play games for lessons we watch movies or read books for those.

He was also willing to kill a child without permission from her or her guardian with a 90% chance of failure. If a guy comes in an operating room with a smorgasbord of weapons how much sense does it make to say I’m not gonna let you take her with a scalpel in hand. I’m sorry but he had it coming if you ask me.

Yeah and it just seems like everyone is choosing to forget all the circumstances and he was a no named npc that they made a plot device I never cared about Abby as a character and still don’t care in the show

As a superfan of Mel, I was disappointed by the casting. This episode changed my opinion. I like that they are painting her as being more sympathetic and showing a little riff between her and Abby already. It's also helping that the actress has these big innocent doe eyes. I know everyone is focused on other things this episode, but this is where my heads at lol

Maybe if there were some other character worth caring about in the entire show I’d keep going, but Ellie is an obnoxious c-word (kudos to Bella Ramsey for making the character so believably unlikable), and no other character has been developed enough to be invested in. I like Kaitlyn Dever, she’s one of the best actresses of her generation, so I might give it a couple more weeks, but if I have to sit through watching Ellie behaving like a spoiled brat who considers no one but herself for much longer, this show is going to lose me.

Here is a little extra added darkness to the episode: Ashley Johnson is the voice actress who voices Ellie in the games, and who played Ellie’s mom in the flashback on the show. She also sings, and it was her cover of Through The Valley they played at the end. I felt that.
