So, I tried doing some speed drawing exercises, the object of which was to get some pictures done as complete as possible, fast as possible! Because speed is probably my biggest weakness in art right now (one of MANY, but my biggest)!

I found some silly things to draw, and trends in the furry world helped! One of which was the Nintendo source code leaks wherein very early, unused designs for Yoshi were found (the earliest of which was dubbed "Proto-Yoshi"), and Bowser Day which takes places on August 4th (because he first appeared in world 8-4 of Super Mario Bros). Lampy... I got nothin'. ^^ I think he's cute and sexy.

Proto-Yoshi took less than 2 hours to do, Lampy a little more than 2 hours, and Bowser was about 6, but you can see he was more complicated. The latter was also another exercise in drawing directly on the sketch, which I actually think is more trouble than just outlining. Sucks, because linework is very already slow and tedious, but the time I save by not outlining is consumed by other factors down the line made more difficult without outlines. ^^;

Unfortunately, I gotta lay off the speed drawing exercises for now. Kinda underestimated how much physical stress drawing so hard and fast puts on my hand and wrist, which have been in almost constant pain since the beginning of this year. All I can do is go easy on it (can't afford a doctor because 'Murica), and that was exactly the opposite. But I'm nothing if I can't draw, so I'll find a way to get art done no matter what!
