Braden Poapst

Would like to do to this movie what Peppermint did to Cynthia Lee Fontaine during the Music (by Madonna) lip sync on S9.

Gordon

I think the nail in the coffin for the Globes this year was after the ceremony when that one HFPA interviewer asked Daniel Kaluuya what it was like to be directed by Regina King, that really felt like the moment that got people the most irate

Christina Binder

Joe forgot to mention that Ryan Heffington also choreographed the movements in The OA. Never forget!

Michael

So glad u talk about the hideous GG statue that used to be unique . Now it looks like a prop from Goldmember

Devan Suber

Do we think this movie killed Sia's music career as well?

Chas

The shade you both are throwing in this episode is legendary 🏆🏆🏆

grag

sorry unrelated to the episode, but where can I find episodes 1-13 to relisten too? The earliest episode I can see on spotify and apple podcasts is the TIFF ‘18 Bonus ep.

This movie was legitimately insane. When the boxing kid got knocked out by the father and they showed the blood coming out of his head I let out a good old GTFOH

MJ

Love Chris’s incredulity at eggs and maple syrup together like McGriddles don’t exist.

Luca Bruno

SCREAMING David Byrne/True Stories during the "Musicians who directed movies" segment

Stuart K

From the bottom of my heart thank you so much for actually covering this one. You were both great sports about it even though you hated it so much (rightfully so). Sorry for such a chaotic pick but I couldn't help myself. Personally I like the songs and I still lie awake at night thinking about how Sia never properly released the soundtrack but did release an album of 'Songs inspired by' with 5 songs from the film and then 9 other randoms ones. wtf?

On the Rocks supremacy forever. Though i really enjoyed Palm Springs!!

Frank McCormick

Who knew Palm Springs and On The Rocks would be the movies that came closest to causing Chris and Joe to break into Zoom fisticuffs than any movies in a while?! Anyway, and I know this makes me a bitch, but I'm always glad when we get a movie that the guys actively hate and rip to shreds. I know we're supposed to be positive and uplifting and all, but I just enjoy the occasional movie evisceration.

Sam Hetherington

I try to watch along when I can and as you said, Music is alarmingly available. I made it 15mins then my wifi cut out and I took it as a sign to abandon ship. Just enough to really appreciate how bafflingly bad this movie is

Brandon Skidmore

I think this is the first movie that I decided not to watch along with the pod. Still going to listen and enjoy the episode!! But after Chris’s Letterboxd review “REPENT HELL IS REAL” I was like I’m Catholic I live with enough guilt and misery I’m good.

Jamie Wamie

Sia talk made me realise I’d love an episode on VOX LUX (which I’m surprised they didn’t mention). Would a film like that be classed as having Oscar Buzz or was it always too left-field even before it came out to be considered?

Lance Hunter

Honestly, I’m still baffled by how much Joe will go to bat for the Golden Globes after all the abuse news came out. (And, like Chris points out, the things we learned about are very unlikely to be the whole of it.) It feels like the people I know who still eagerly await new Louis CK specials.

Marie

out of all the crazy things I expected to hear this episode “a quiet place 2, good movie” is the one that made me gasp

Lowell Bartholomee

"This is the worst movie we've ever covered on this podcast" made me feel the way you do after the last click at the top of the roller coaster. A fun ride followed.

Brady Thomas

Having never seen this movie, let me tell you, the gasp I gasped when you revealed that Maddie Ziegler's character was NAMED Music...unhinged

Brit

I saw today that Kate Hudson wrote the note for Leslie Odom Jr.’ in TIME magazine. Shockingly, she did not mention this movie.
