People often laugh at Spike when he talks about racism, for some reason (I mean, I know the reason), but then time passes and he's usually right.

Today is a say something hat day for sure.

Fuck yeah I do like fire island though with all due respect

Watched this for the first time after seeing a 30th anniversary showing of Priscilla - had spent years thinking they were similar beyond the three drag queens of it all, only to realise they uhhh really don't have much in common

Just wanted to share this trivia item: “Robert Sean Leonard, Kyle MacLachlan, John Turturro, James Spader, Viggo Mortensen, John Cusack, Matt Dillon, Alexis Arquette, Rob Lowe and Willem Dafoe. (Arquette taught Dafoe how to tuck during auditions.) But it ended up being down to Lowe, Dillon and Swayze. Rob and Matt were full on sexy, but there was a certain vulnerability that Patrick brought to the character." Love Wesley in this. All his lines are great but his Dorothy Dandridge speech is everything.

"Best Little Whorehouse" not being in that Known For is homophobic.

Thank you for mentioning Hippie Hippie Shake— I had forgotten that so completely I thought it was a fever dream!

New name for The IMDB Game: Two Wrong Guesses, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar

Just a housekeeping note - there was no announcement of this episode on Instagram or Xitter. Just in case you have them scheduled to post and there was a glitch!

Is this the most T.H.O.B. Movie ever? Drag queens, drag competition, Anne Baxter in the 10 Commandments, Noxema and Clara playing the IMDB game, women who slay, baking the pies and eating the pies, and Beth Grant.

I have been baffled by this film's title for ages. I have also just actually watched this film for the first time before then listening to this episode. Important news: This title more or less makes sense! Or as much as it ever can.

One of my favourite films ever. I've always loved the magical realism how you never see the girls out of costume! Was thinking about who would be in a 2024 remake (god forbid). For some reason, Dave Bautista kept coming to mind for Miss Noxeema - an action star who's also fantastic at comedy. Not an action star, but I think Brian Tyree Henry would also crush it. I think you need someone with the sort of dignity of a Denzel as Miss Vida, though obviously he's much older than Swayze - maybe Colman Domingo? STRUGGLING to think who I'd cast as Miss Chi-Chi though!

Just getting to this episode. Joe, you're right, one should never sanction that (or any kind) of buffoonery. As I said over on the Screen Drafts patreon after you quote this on the Schumacher draft, I really think we need merch with that on it!

You all mentioned Don Cheadle’s snub for Devil in a Blue Dress so I hope you’ve added it to the list of movies to discuss!

Chauncey Telese

You guys discounted how funny Swayze was on SNL.
