If you are interested in learning about the real history of the Nazis' plundering of Europe's art, the excellent 2006 documentary The Rape of Europa goes into this topic in great depth.

Learning that sweet king John Goodman chose to ride bikes with Bill Murray instead of hanging out with the uninviting Clooney and Damon is bittersweet to hear. I found Goodman pretty well realized and thoughtful in his performance here, better than most of the cast. Check out his appearance on Howard Stern to learn a bit about his experience on set. https://bit.ly/4eewhgn

Great episode guys in an incredible run of movies I've never heard of (an aspect that always makes for my favorite discussions!). And honestly the antifrench Joe stances in this one are justified and correct

“Truly Moving Picture” for The Imitation Game but it’s just that gif of Tia Kofi pretending she’s typing while in her Alan Turing-inspired outfit.

Sam Hetherington

Truly Moving Picture needs to make an appearance at the 2024 Superlatives (and have 20 increasingly tenuous recipients)

Laura Kitchings

Mr. Roberts would be a great exceptions episode!

Jenny Maurer

My pa went to see this film while I went to see the Lego movie

As a Minnesotan Gary, I wanted to throw in my 2 cents on Tim Walz fave movies theorizing. Remember the Titans Absolutely, he definitely showed it every school year Fargo, Minnesotan dads love Fargo Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind, peak dad Spielberg Marley and Me, you know that man weeps over dogs

I love HAIL, CAESAR!, my favorite film of 2016 (an extraordinary movie year), and Clooney's probably the third person I get to when I go down the list of great performances in it. (Channing Tatum's way down it, even if the "No Dames" number IS great.)

John Ananias

To the idea that Bill Murray may not be good at blending into a non-Wes Anderson ensemble: ED WOOD - that's not a contemporary example, that film is 30 years old (...oof), but it leapt right to my mind,, because he sure is a part of the fabric of it and a great supporting player in it.

Drunk History should have like a billion spin offs like Sports History, Movie History, TV History. Or at least more TV series like that one 30 Rock episode about TV history (without the blackface) where you have the same actor star as the main character in question

Molly Fromkin

Y’all remember the time Busy Phillipps hugged Joe?!

No Way

IF wasn't that bad!

David Kirk

I’m I the only person who still really likes the Artist?

Brian Case

Here's my take on Walz's Top 4: 1. Remember the Titans 2. Brian's Song 3. Saving Private Ryan 4. The Natural

So excited for the return of Vulture Movie League! Should we hold off on submitting entries for now? I compared the list of films to my letterboxd and saw some missing and wasn't sure if those are still to be added. (Happy to provide film names if that's helpful)

Joe, I also would not be able to recognize or identify Alexandre Desplat, but Chris I love that you can. I support you both and was tickled by that argument. Thank you for brightening my day!!!!

Erin Freeman

could some lovely Gary reply with the name of our Vulture fantasy league team name?

Sarah Lang

The *second* Joe said something about a “particular reference”, I was all “WHEE DRUNK HISTORY!”

Marie

we need a gary discord just for todays cinematrix

Joe: These foreigners, they come over here and take our awards from under-appreciated American men like Brad Pitt and then don’t even work in our industry. And I am absolutely NOT going to pronounce your name properly… Am I right? Chris: …No. 😂

Brandon Skidmore

This might be my most hated movie y’all ever done lol. Loathed it.
