han juwon my little prince i love him so much... he yearns for connection but has no understanding of how to access it so he's just like "oh maybe dongsik will like me if i play his silly game of committing illegal prosecution methods and acting insane tee hee 😝" but he is so inescapably himself, always trying too hard and doing too much bc he doesn't understand WHY the people around him act the way they do so when he tries to mimic it it never quite lands... he's so autistic and he's so me oops hopefully now that they are "partners" he will start to realise dongsik actually likes his true controlling, judgemental, prissy, sarcastic self just fine <33 anyway main plot continues to just be GAG after GAG after GAGGGGGG, I def agree this feels like a season 2! i'm loving how we're now returning to the format of the gradually increasing flashback reveals about the night of yuyeon's murder in a way that mirrors how we slowly learned about the night minjung's death, it's such a fun plot device.

that juwon/hyuk scene at the beginning...the height difference...the hyung-ing...oh ho ho they definitely hooked up when they were younger and juwon HATES that he went there/did that/him! sorry, just had to get that out of my system. love the use of the ost at the end and i understand the need to screenshot - when dongshik reaches up to clutch juwon's hand...gah. one of my favourite things about BE is how it manages to constantly surprise and disorient and wrong foot you BUT never at the expense of the emotional, human heart of the show - so many mysteries/thrillers end up prioritising twists and turns over characterisation and relationships, but in BE the former organically emerge from/inform and develop the latter. fun fact to lighten the mood: i don't know if he did all of them, but choi daehoon (jeongje) definitely drew some of the deer himself!
