Great podcast. So glad you feel you can really open up to us and rant and rave. We all have Demons to manage. Keep strong and keep up with the great work you're doing health wise. We are all here to listen xxxx

Food...I miss real food. Just had to have my gallbladder removed. Can only tolerate bread, bologna, fluids. Sucks. So I guess this is food withdrawal. Yuck...

Dan! I went through this myself when I quit smoking in my late twenties/early thirties... I had a rocky road, did some social smoking until finally i had enough. I remember my last cigarette and thinking - omg this tastes like the exhaust pipe on the back of a car. Yuck. I remember that the hardest part was the mental strength needed to turn down a cigarette when drunk. I think you are SPOT ON to stop drinking to better yourself. Its a different path for everyone, but it sounds like you are tuned into what you need. I can totally relate to so many of your inner thoughts and I really think that you are a highly emotionally intelligent person and have so much to guide you internally. You have great friends and support. You will get through the hardest part no matter how long it takes! wishing you good luck.

I’m sorry Dan, you got your phucken facts all twisted up in a knot... “Roma” as you are saying, are NOT THE SAME THING AS ROMANIANS..!!! There are some people of Roma heritage in Romania, but the Roma (yes often also “Gypsy”) live all over the world, originating from a people’s in ancient Northern India. I’m not just phucken with ya, because I am of “Roma” (not Romanian) heritage on my mother’s side. Please, when you get a chance, look this up and do a lil research...

Dan, i think it's valuable to record something like this. It seems to be helping you from what you've said, which is number one. But also, mid-life crises tend to be treated like a joke, but its fucking serious stuff and it sounds like you're trying to channel yours for something good. My brother has barely been surviving his, he's pretty much gone the other way. It's so fucking hard to get decent help with this kind of stuff and you putting your journey out there will help make people more aware of it. Best of luck to you, man. I'm rooting for you.

I started with you too, it’s not cigarettes for me but exercising to lose like 40 lbs. I like the video diary, hope to see more updates

I'm so proud of you, Dan! I know from experience how hard what you're doing is and I love that you are taking us on your journey. Thank you for sharing it with us!

I’m a huge Opie and Anthony fan, and when they were still doing the show they hated mancow because of the exact stuff you mentioned. Also his fake radio voice. They called home mancunt

True Story: Mancow was broadcasting live on 9/11 and told his viewers on-air that he thought the terrorists were coming after his building.
