Hi guys,This post might seem suspicious, don't worry, I don't plan on stopping development any time soon! When I started this journey, I was mediocre at best and as Chapter 5 and 6 have shown so far, there's been a positive evolution in writing, dialogue, SFX design, Art, Animations, ect... However, I do want to keep pushing myself and become even better, but for that, I need to make some changes. I'm considering two options:- Switch to an upgraded version of the technology I currently use to make the images. Imagine the images currently being 1080P, this would be like 4K + RTX ON. Not only would it make the images more vibrant, feel more alive, it would also allow us to create some very creative new work, poses, expressions, ect... but it would also reduce the amount of time I have to spend in Photoshop. I would still use Photoshop to build the scenes I need, but this would definitely improve the overall quality.(I've included a preview of what the new style would look like). I paid a professional to match the style as close to what we have, but there will be some slight differences. (Maybe the differences are positive?). We are still refining this to get it as close as possible. - The next thing, would be including a small subset of choices. Everybody likes to influence the game in a way, but while I would keep the story linear (meaning things that are meant to happen to influence the main plot of the game, would still happen). These smaller subset of choices would be more preference based: (Changing the name of the MC, choosing whether or not you share Alice with a certain person, if you want to see a certain sequence of NSFW acts, ect...) Those would require a some effort to implement, but not nearly as much as redoing the entire game in order to influence the overall plot. I will be polling both options in the coming days, these will be available for paid members only. (Any tier).

2-3 months is faster than 99% of all AVN's out there? Just because the images are AI, doesn't mean I can create perfect quality images on consistent backgrounds out of thin air, let alone do all the coding, writing, sound design, ect... Amongst every single competitor, I make the fastest and most amount of content with consistent quality in the time frame? The only games that put out monthly updates, either have so little content in them, that it's not even worth playing, or they lack any sort of consistency or are presented in a different format such as a Phone Games.

I love having choices and being able to chart my own path somewhat so I would really appreciate if you could incorporate that. Also the upgrade sounds awesome as well! Really like your game! Thanks!

Symbiotic Life

Less than 30 days per update is literally just physically impossible, I think you have no idea of the work that goes in.

BaahubaliMod

200 renders/ month yes of course 😂😂😂

Symbiotic Life

It's not even really the renders, the scene planning, the writing, the proofreading and the biggest thing of all. The copious amounts of photoshop and other secondary AI work required to actually build out the scenes beyond initial prompt or depth work. It's just not feasible to do that in under 30 days for each release. Which are lately over 400 images (some of those images made up of multiple renders photoshopped together). The last release was I think 450 images? Slightly over including the cellphone pics. That would require planning, completing and writing for 15 images a day. That's insane.

Buddy the best and most popular games take months to update. That's why the quality is so good, and you have to take into consideration that these people have lives outside of making these games.

aurechi

IMHO consistency is far more important than length (or course, within a degree of reasonableness, a whole year would probably be a stretch haha). It's your project, your history, and most importantly, your challenge. Anyone with skin in the game knows that increasing quality comes at exponential scalability costs -and thus hiring an office is not feasible given the scope, so time gotta give. Options are always welcome, no downside. My only piece of advice, as an artist, is that it's easy to fall in love and end up in a perfectionists rabbit hole, haha, just find the balance in delivering and you are gold. I wish you nothing but joy and prosperity.

I won't be able to participate in the poll but I'll leave my opinion here if it matters to you. I think the choices would be a great add to the game, not just because we get just a little control in the events but also because more people will be willing to play through the game if they know they can avoid at least some things.

increase the team members you work with, take less load yourself so that you can be creative and consistent like always ❤️

perVpro

Love the idea of pushing your game futher and futher. I have always liked choices, but I do know that sometimes it push back the development. Since there might multiple paths to create. Adding more to the team might help speed the process too.

Saphfire

Why would you need to rewrite the game because of some choices? Rename the mc is a MUST. And simple choices as: do you want Alice to be fucked by the standard bbc yes/no should not be that hard to implement but are crucial for your audiance.

Pantera

I like choices although I know it can be difficult to add changing branches. If you think the art change is a big improvement that won't really slow development then it sounds promising. You gotta make sure you keep Alice looking like her best self. If you are talking about a complete art rework that stalls story progression for many months then I think it would be best to do it as you can separately while updating in the current style. You could sell the upscaled version someplace like Steam or Itchio later and give to patrons that donated a certain amount. I've seen a lot of games die off during reworks. Best of luck whatever you decide.

MegazordDoForro

If you asked me, I would say that it is better to finish this story first and then start a more audacious project, where you can apply everything you learned in this first one.

I think the fear for some subscribers would be the wait time in between chapters. I personally think if switching the technology you use to a new one would reduce the time in between updates then im all for it! But I do think the focus should be a bit more on continuing the story. We just got introduced to a few new characters and relationships that we all just cant wait to see what comes of the story! Ultimately, this is your game and your life so do whats best for you!

Incorporating choices is definitely a good shout. I often see people also echoing this about SoA (and a lot of other adult games), where even just little choices that change how scenes happen is nice. You can't ever please everybody, but giving little nods and prods here and there to bring people at least a little bit closer to what they want to see is nice. I've said this on F95 myself, and I think just being able to influence how either Liam or Alice get information about each other's shenanigans would already massively add to the...carnal appeal of a lot of scenes. Just anything that gives people a bit of a choice to where they want to slide on the NTS/NTR scale. Neat thing is that if done well, you don't even really have to add new scenes/graphics, and just some change in dialogue can influence the appeal of a scene a lot. Of course, all that depends just how much it would affect/delay development. I like SoA as it is enough that I'll happily take quicker updates over being able to have some choices.

AbyssGames

It would not slow down development at all if I switch styles, if anything it would speed it up slightly, so I can spend more time on other things such as dialogue.

Harted

To be honest i like the first point, your game quality has improved alot. But for the 2nd point i like it to be a kinetic cause you do things good, putting choice is not a thing i'd like cause it will take more time, or we'll get shorter chapter i guess? I think its better to not change this for now and put choices when the game is finished like vanilla route or anything you plan. So i prefer the game as a kinetic novel, but i trust you anyway mate.

Alec

I would love to see some choices in the game I remember being kinda disappointed with the night club scene, you couldn’t choose to let Alice fall a little further into depravity, especially as I feel it wouldn’t need to impact the story too much as the MC is out at a club influenced by drugs and alcohol rather than more consciously making that choice so it could just be an extra discussion once they get home rather than altering the story overall. I think even small choices that have no real impact on the overall story, they just change the next few lines of text and nothing else, are nice as it feels a bit more like you are the MC rather than just watching through the MCs eyes. Having said that I would say focus on the main story you want to tell before adding branching paths or different endings or stuff like that. On the side of upgrading the software I’m all for it especially if it reduces the time between updates, perhaps if possible you could alternate updates between releasing a new chapter and updating a previous chapter. I imagine the previous chapters would be easier/quicker to update than writing a new one as part of the work is already done so maybe those releases wouldn’t take as long but I don’t know how much work goes on behind the scenes so I’m not going to assume. I would also be happy with releases being put on hold for a while so you can update the whole game to the new software. Overall I think more choices, regardless of how much they influence the story, and updating the software are both good ideas that would be worth the time they’d require to be done properly also don’t feel pressured to increase the frequency of releases, your game is one of the few that actually puts out new releases with little to no bugs/typos and I would hate to see a quality drop just to satisfy impatient people. I’ve been enjoying the game so far so no matter what you choose to do I’m sure I’ll continue to enjoy the future updates!

Dear developer, I would like to thank you for your work and the excellent update you have released! After completing the update, I had a question that I could not find an answer to in the game. Before the shot with Sofia, Alice and Luke were texting about Alice giving Milo her number for a shot with her. Luke suggested that Alice take a shot with Liam or himself, but Alice declined and said, "I want to take a shot with Milo." So the question is, why did Alice reject Liam (even though she repeatedly mentioned in previous chapters that she wanted to try him), and why is she so insistent on doing it with Milo? (Is it because Alice likes Milo's taste so much that she insists on having a shot with him?)

Am Ende ist es wichtig was dich glücklich macht! Solange das Spiel von guter Qualität ist und eine Menge Action beinhaltet kannst du dich als Künstler frei ausleben! Lass deiner Kreativität freien Lauf mein Freund/e! ♡

James Normandy

The improvement to the quality of the pictures is always nice but I don't think it's worth it if the process makes the time between updates longer. If it doesn't impact development time I'm all for it otherwise I think it would be better to stick to 1080P.

Newbe163

Same feeling on my side. Honestly, your characters are not lacking anything due to 1080p.

AbyssGames

It's not that it would increase the development time, if anything it would make it much lower. Most of those images are fine, due to the copius amount of photoshop/work I put in to make them look good. I would have to do way less of that if I use a new model.

Newbe163

I'm no tech person on this. I like the story so far very much and I do assume bringing in options will increase significantly the release cycle, as you need to work on all the possible options. Have been watching some novels with that, looks like a lot of effort. I will follow your novel no matter which way you will decide, still would be in favor of faster getting the next chapter than having the option to influence. Just my 5 cents

Alejandro Flirtado

It's simple, I think everyone (or almost everyone) agrees: if technical changes increase the time between updates, I think it's no good (the game is already doing well as it is), especially for paying subscribers. If the changes don't affect the release of the chapters, well, why not?

Floatious

From a writing perspective, meaningful choices mean you have to ensure all future dialogue either A) is compatible with all outcomes of all decisions you let the player make, or B) has branching dialogue trees depending on past decisions made. Both require a ton of extra planning and introduce a significant risk of inconsistent/incoherent storytelling if (read: when) a branch is not considered. I don't see any way it doesn't affect dev/playtest time.

AbyssGames

It wouldn't be choices that would influence the story in any way, we're too far along for that, but rather choices to avoid certain types of content.

Floatious

Honestly, I prefer kinetic for the following reasons: 1) Unless outcomes are crystal clear, I tend to fret about how a decision might affect future choices/scenes/etc., and I hate the idea of missing content unless I replay to see missed scenes. 2) It often leads to inconsistencies or necessitates stifling creativity to rein in branching path complexity. 3) You're a good writer, and I'm perfectly happy with the story you've given us so far. It's tight, and I see no reason to complicate things unnecessarily. Hard for me to comment on the new style with one picture, but honest opinion is the face is great, but the body is too thick and lacks the usual definition of musculature. That said, it's one picture, and the game itself has pictures with these traits so again, hard to judge! Love your passion though. It's clear you care about this project, which is more important than any change in artwork or story structure.

Floatious

That makes sense! But even then, you would have to make sure you never reference anything that happens during a scene the player could potentially skip. Give the player the choice to skip all Milo scenes, and all of a sudden, Alice wanting to make an OogleFans video with Milo doesn't make much sense. Just a quick example - probably not representative of the kind of scenario you'd give player choice - but it could lead to sacrificing creative freedom to maintain narrative cohesion for all player choices.

I have to admit that I do like the idea of having control over who the good lady plays with but, at the end of the day, it's your call.

aegonhentaryen

I'd love to see a Sophie vs Kate kind of event, but I'm not sure Sophie is up to the level... the two best girls anyways! thanks for the hard work

AbjectlyCasey

I've no desire to see it linear. Always seems to just go down a deep rabbit hole into NTR territory. It was fun, but I'm out.

AbyssGames

Huh? What are you talking about? This will never have NTR?

Hohoha

Sophie is so fucking hot, would love to see more crazy sex scenes with her! Also, i would like if there are 2 routes, one NTR with sophie/kate and one vanilla with alice..... [In my opinion, the recent sex scene with sophie was by far the best one in entire game]
