Before we dive into the poll, I urge you guys to read this thoroughly. CHANGING MODELS WILL NOT AFFECT THE DEVELOPMENT CYCLE NEGATIVELY!If anything, it will speed this part up.This is a poll about changing the model I use to generate images, to a more recent and more powerful one. The primary reason I am considering this, is due to the copious amount of Photoshop I currently have to do. This does not mean no Photoshop will have to be done anymore, but far less. This will save me a big amount of time, because I'm the closest to burning out when I'm just spending my entire day in photoshop, editing image, after image. The secondary reason, is that the old models has certain issues with certain poses, complex prompts and more. This would fix that and would allow for a wider variety of facial expressions, backgrounds, poses, ect... It would help bring my vision to life the way I want it to be. The third reason, is well, some members of my team prefer this model over the one I currently use. Technology is evolving, but it's important to keep up.Now the downside of this model is that things will look slightly different. I spent the last 3 days ironing out the combination I need to get it as close as humanly possible to the old version. It will never be a 1-1 replica, but based on feedback from some people, it's pretty close if not better. I personally believe this is necessary to bring Shadows of Ambition to the next level, as I said before, my main objective is to make this into an experience you'll never forget. One of those AVN's you'll always remember in the back of your head. Here is the comparison image between the old and the new for all the characters. (I tried to stay faithful to their look, although some additional tweaking might happen, depending on the outcome of this poll). Make sure to open the image in a new tab so you can zoom in. (It's a big picture).

The new styke has more pop to it if that makes sense

DenSasaki

Old or new, still a banger. Make sense tho. I will continue to support, looks amazing on both ways ngl.

The Bingus Collective

I'm voting for new, but as a word of caution, no change in tech flow will ever come without tradeoffs. I have a feeling I know what the old and new models are and although the new model is definitely going to have some advantages it won't solve all problems and will also likely introduce new headaches as well. As long as the team is all on board with that then you guys will be fine.

JS

Old are much better, also please don't do andrea like that she deserves better D: EDIT: breasts absolutely did not need to get bigger with this change, just leave them as they are

Particle Vision

The Old version is much better in my opinion.

AbyssGames

Yeah, I don't know if that's due to nostalgia to it or it's what we're used to, but the trade-offs for the new would make my life easier.

AbyssGames

This is just raw images. None of them have been edited or tweaked. We would not enlarge their breasts more than what they were.

JS

If this is the case, I'm happy with either, although I do kinda like the old eyes better. If it's a lot less work for you with this new model I say make the switch then

OsirisHeir._

It really is a close call, ngl. The new models definitely look smoother and cleaner in terms of overall quality. That said, for me, it varies by character, and the differences aren’t drastic enough for me to be against it. So I vote for new models, long term. Of the ones shown, only Andrea and Sarah feel a bit iffy to me, but that could change depending on the posing, as you mentioned.

AbyssGames

There's definitely room for improvement on certain characters. I'll try to get them as close as I possibly can! It's taken a lot of work to get it to this stage right now, but I believe with a few tweaks for every character, it'll be as old.

Alec

I like the increase in quality and the decrease in stress and extra work for you and your team is obviously a plus so I will be voting for the new style. However I do hope you can try and keep the faces closer to the old style than in this example as I just feel like they are very different and losing some of the character that I liked about the original style. I also feel like there seems to be less cum than in the old style and I do prefer more cum when it comes to facials and cum shots but that’s a smaller issue and the faces are my main concern with the new style.

Poundar

I voted for new model for workflow reasons, but there are certain notable features that I prefer in the old model. In the new model: Lips are thinner and less pronounced, with the exception of Olivia. The nostrils are noticeably smaller and pretty much absent on some images like Sarah's. Older characters like Jasper and Olivia look a lot younger, but that didn't seem to affect Keith for some reason. Just some small things I noticed that could help smooth the transition to a new model.

Mad Healzz

Even if you were to keep the old style after this poll, with the speed these AI models are growing you would have to redo the poll again in 6 months. Adapt and grow!

Floatious

The faces are the biggest difference. Thinner lips, thinner outlines, smaller eyes, smaller noses, less pronounced eyeliner, and less hatching. Feels more polished, less hand-drawn, more "modern anime". Expressions seem a bit less... expressive. The bodies are mostly the same aside from the hatching and outlines. (Obviously, some prompt engineering could bring those elements back in if you wanted to and don't mind finetuning a bit.) All of this brings it further away from MNGF, which might not be a bad thing - but if I'm being honest, I prefer the old style by a decent margin. That being said, the script and situations matter much more than these small artistic details, so it's not a deal-breaker for me. I think I know the upgrade you've done and the issue it's solving for. *If* you're noticing significant improvement in the problem area, it's probably worth the tradeoff, but I do think it's a tradeoff.

spuul

Don't like the new faces at all. They look more like all the other AI games out there.

spuul

The old faces are much better, not even close.

OsirisHeir._

There is no doubt that there is always room for improvement. It’s mainly the small details that seem to be getting lost, which takes away some of a character’s charm. Both Andrea’s and Sarah’s eyes are smaller, but I think that’s part of what gives them their appeal, and it feels a bit diminished in the newer version, at least in the raw images. I'll take your word for it to get it as close to the original as possible.

MegazordDoForro

new alice and olivia seems pretty better but old kate and andrea are just perfect

isleepizi

I voted for new because I would love for you to be able to make things easier on yourself and not get burnt out, as much as we all love getting frequent updates, no one wants to see a creator crash and burn due to overworking themselves. The only drawback for the new is what most people have pointed out in the faces, and while its not a drastic change I do feel it takes away some of the personality of the characters. Either way my support for this project wont stop and I look forward to the many updates to come!

DTZ Games

I’d like to add an important note: using this new model also brings the ability to create much better and more complex backgrounds and angles. I think it would be a good idea to make a TXT2IMG comparison with the same seed, or a "full potential" comparison instead of IMG2IMG, since most of the comparison images are with simple backgrounds and poses. Lip size can also be easily adjusted with prompts

Fabzo447

BaahubaliMod

I voted no. I am not sure things will be easier with Illustrious. The slightest defect is more noticeable, and the same goes for the backgrounds, which will have to evolve.

Newbe163

Seems the feed-back is clear, even if I voted for old. Like them more than the new version, but will be able to adapt.

arsha

While I think the old model has a better style unique to your game (new one looks more general anime-ish), if the new model helps with burnout and quality of game, I say go with the new one.

David Blanco Roth

If it makes your life easier developing the game, I support the changes.

Cardus

despise my vote on OLD i will agree with David... if it makes your life easier go ahead... personally i think the old have more character... hard to explain but for me the expressions just look better on the OLD model! BUT, and i will repeat myself... if it makes your life easier go for it, still looks great!

Salty Grandpa

I personally prefer the old style, especially the eyes. But I know nothing about any of this and if the new model helps development then go for it.

z_saber

New is way too generic AI while the old had a better look to it

azula aang

I prefer old, but the new is so close to it that I wouldn't let that be a factor standing in the way of progress. The main difference I see is expressions being less... expressive. Kates grin is a bit more tame and her brother looks less surprised. And Alice looks a bit younger, but I can't put my finger on why that is. The other differences are lighting/ colors/skintone but those are promptable (is that a word?) I guess. I'd give it a go

Dick Cinema

I prefer old. It’s subtle but better. That being said, do what feels right and works for you.

Harted

Overall i prefer old but i was about to vote new if it helps you more, but i saw Alice and i don't really like the new Alice, she look younger and less lewd than the old one idk if you can fix that, but she doesn’t really look like your style anymore. Hope it will be better if more polished. (Same for Sophie facial expression are a bit empty but not as much as Alice). But as most of us said if it's alot better for you do what you prefer, i just hope you"ll get back the lewdness and most mature faces mate.

erm

Old ones feel like Im actually looking at human beings while the new ones just look, well AI I guess... I voted old but if it makes your life that much easier than I really cant blame you for changing. Wish you good luck with the new look though, you are one of those devs who actually put in an honest work and passion.

wes3n

Definitely prefer the style/appearance of the old. That said, youre the dev/author/artist. If you prefer/want to go a certain way for whatever reason, its your choice. Either way, the artwork and story are going to be good quality, its just a preference of cake or brownies in my mind.

Juice

I'll be completely honest, I think the old style looks way better. With that said, I'm sure the difference won't be as stark and noticeable if it's new game content, as opposed to an old/new side-by-side comparison, and if it means you can avoid burnout and deliver more SoA content, then I say the trade-off is worth it.

Bel Pheron

Just don't decide to go back and rework the entirety of what you've made so far, and then decide the story needed to be changed too, and milk out years of money for an unfinished game. You know what I mean? New is good, if it makes it easier for you.

Lorenzo

Like many have said, I also prefer the old one, but if the new one can really help you so much and be more efficient, then I'll choose the new. I just hope you'll fix the faces a bit because they look less appealing and more "AI"-like.

f2b

The eyes in the new model look strange to me. They almost seem to look a bit too far apart, it's most visible to me in the Alice picture but also stands out in the others. They also all look a bit sleepy, maybe that's a design choice but the more open eyes in the original look much better to me.

Baret

old one was better ,

Pnfiend095

There is something so unique and, honestly, so almost sensual about the old art that get removed from the new images. It's almost removing some of the aspects that make the female characters especially look so alluring. I think the issue is that it makes them look a little more harsh. The softness of their features and the fullness of the lips disappear. I would love to get updates more rapidly, but that side by side was striking to me.

racedriver1998

My honest vote is whatever works for you. Some photos I like in the old, some in the new.

Puma78

Its maybe strange but i feel more attracted to old versions of the pics. I think it compliments more the art style u r doing. Realism is not an important feature in ur art style and i really like the eyes of old versions better by far. Its much more engaging.

AbyssGames

We've fine tuned it a bit to get those features back! :)

Pnfiend095

You're the best! You have some of the best art in this style of game and we understand how much time and effort this takes you! Thank you!

Pantera

I prefer the old style based on these images. The nose, eyes and lips are the main things that look better to me on the old images. Overall the old ones just seem to have more detail. The new images are decent and maybe you can fine tune them some more while maintaining the improved speed to get them closer to the old ones. Good luck.

Deckard17

I prefer "old" Andrea, she look high in the new style.

AbyssGames

The style has already been updated based on feedback. Check out the discord! :)

phoenix67234

Huh, I expected it to be an absolute landslide win for old. All the expressions and overall look is far far better. While new one is too simplified.

AbyssGames

Since this poll, the new style has been changed quite a bit. All the recent posts and the rework I did in the 6.1 are proof of that! :)
