The Hard Sell, Episode Fifty-Two: First Direct

Advertising: the rattling of a stick in a swill-bucket? Welcome to the show where the stick rattles back: The Hard Sell. Adverts from history, treated with the respect they deserve. This episode: Not Brand X visits the launch of First Direct, the UK's first branchless bank, and discovers that the concept was considered so weird and confusing that it had to be advertised via sheer madness.
