This grew out of the last Hard Sell, when I realised I couldn't have a closing segment half as long again as the entire preceding episode.

I remember why I haven't made more of these bonus videos now, they're surprisingly time-consuming.

I think they technically continue to this day - the franchises still exist, it's just that one company owns thirteen of them.

Brilliant Matt on every little detail on the video. Thames was not only a talent for television, but the true original television for London.

You know, I still think I'd have preferred a Granada/Thames owned ITV than the Granada/Carlton ITV that we got. Plus it would have made MLN's job a bit easier post-1992. But I agree that Thames would probably have done exactly the same thing in Carlton's shoes, had they won the 1993 franchise.

I don't think I've ever heard the full version of the 1992 Thames music before. In fact I never knew it existed!

Id still think a granada Thames itv also would have been better although talkback would still only be making adverts and Alas smith & jones for bbc and tiger aspect and the like would not exist without Thames death taking place even a granada owned tsw and tvs would have been much more palatable than having green in itv that is only saving grace i will give charles allen he got green out of itv for good
